Hey everybody,

I'm happy to announce my soccer eBooks are now available at both Oyster and Scribd, the two major eBook subscription services. I actually use Scribd as a reader and it's quality.

Interview

Hey folks,

my buddies at World Soccer Talk published an interview with me about my family life, childhood, soccer writing, and all that goodness. It's a fun quick read.

New Review for "An Illustrated Guide"

Hey folks,

long time no ink. I just got wind of a lovely review of my "Illustrated Guide to Soccer & Spanish" by Steve Amoia, himself a master of Italian soccer terns (and also a speaker of le Spanish). His site the Soccer Translator is super fun and useful too.

Check it out here.

Audiobook for free at Amazon (Limited time)

Hey folks,

the audiobook has finally gone live at Amazon. Here's the deal: you can buy the audiobook for $6, or you can try Audible (the audiobook Netflix-esque site) for a month for free and snag my book that way.

Check it out for yourself here.

Amazon has somehow mislinked my audiobook with another totally unrelated ebook, which I blame on Jeff Bezo's health problems in Ecuador. I would hold him accountable, but that other ebook has a five star review so no blood no foul.

Your Mocho Guide to Soccer Spanish

Hey folks,

after much work, the audiobook (narrated by me) is available for An Illustrated Guide to Soccer & Spanish via audible. It's just under seven bucks, and you can finally learn how to properly pronounce tee-row day S-keen-ah. See how easy that was?

Enjoy it here. And spread the word!

Best Of Futfanatico 2013 On Sale

Hey folks,

my 2013 "Best Of" eBook is now on sale for a buck at Amazon. I don't want to toot my own horn, but this may be my best of the Best Of ebooks. It features plenty of long form for quarterlies such as The Blizzard, XI Quarterly, and The Classical Magazine. Thus, the writing is juicier and perfect for a long car trip or plane ride.

Here's the link.

Happy holidays.

Stock Up Your eBook Library

Hey folks,

as many of you know, I do a "Best Of" eBook each year for my blog Futfanatico and my soccer writing at other sites/journals/quarterlies. I pick my ten favorite pieces, slap them together with a minimalist cover, and sell it all for a buck on Amazon.

I'm glad I've done this because, frankly, the universe is a cruel place. Especially the interwebs. Some of my favorite articles from years past have disappeared when editors move on to new sites, stop paying server fees, and domains go unregistered.

You think it will never happen to you, but then, bam, one day PitchInvasion ceases to exist.

As part of my dark covenant with Amazon, the "Best Of" eBooks are only available there BUT I can give them away for free for a limited period of time. That time is now. From today until Saturday, you can snag for free the:

Best of 2009 (Highlight: Kuyt El Capricho at Run of Play)

Best of 2010 (Highlight: Junito, Lies, White Lies & Leche Sin Chocolate)

Best of 2011 (Highlight: the Texas Lower Division Shuffle at 200%) and

Best of 2012 (Highlight: Amazing Real Life Moments in Jaded Soccer Hipster Fandom)

Get them while they're hot (and free)! Just remember - if you like them, rate them a few stars and say some nice words if you have the time.

eBook Sales Bonanza!

Hey folks-

I know that normally September/October/November are dead months for booksales, but I still was too sad to see my two eBooks dwindling in the single digits week after week. I also wanted to expand my pool of readers and respond to market forces - Jimmy Burns has a book about Real Madrid on sale for $3. Three dollars.

Thus, I reduced the price for both the Illustrated Guide to only $4 and the Real Madrid/Barca history book to only $4.

You can snag the Madrid/Barca book for Kindle here and for iPad here

You can grab the Illustrated Guide at for Kindle here and for iPad here

I also don't want to get folks too excited, but I'm finally making progress of an audio-version of the Spanish soccer guide. A Christmas launch date looks like a distinct possibility.....

Book Review

Rob of the lovely soccer blog The Two Unfortunates wrote a review of the book. Check out the goods here:

You should definitely check out Rob's site and follow him on twitter. He offers well-thought out insight on soccer and is a nice counterbalance to partisan trolls!

History Quiz

Hey folks,

longtime no chat. I just concocted a quiz based on the history of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. I guarantee sans-Wikipedia it's tough for even die hard fans.

Give it a go here:
