Twisters on the Horizon: Is This Decade a Re-Make of ‘That 70s Show’?

If we’re in a re-make of ‘That 70s Show’, the plot twists–and twisters heading our way–may be far wilder than we can currently imagine.

I’ve often written about the 1970s, as it is a profoundly misunderstood decade in so many ways. As one example, the enormous expense of retooling America’s industrial base to clean up pollution and become more efficient that I described in The 1970s: From Rotting Carcasses Floating in the River to Kayak Races (January 22, 2023) added to the stagflationary dynami...

What a Week!

The three top stories of the week are the Crowdstrike failure that interrupted internet service to millions; the attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump, and the ongoing Democratic coup against President Biden. You may recall that Crowdstrike was the source of the lie that Russians hacked the DNC files, so I have no sympathy for them. Apparently, there is little legal recourse for the victims of this outage, but I can imagine many institutions and businesses will be reconsidering continuing t...

East German Intelligence Agency Proposes To Classify the Thuringian AfD as ‘Militant and Aggressive’

Without fully meaning to, authorities in Thüringen are inching closer to a state-level ban of Alternative für Deutschland. The AfD are the strongest-polling party there, and prohibiting them would effectively deprive 30% of Thuringians of their right to choose their favoured representatives in September. While I still think any kind of ban is unlikely, these developments are ominous. The state’s own bureaucrats appear to be walking the Interior Ministry right up to the line – and not for any bro...

Globalist ‘Guru’ Claims Trump’s Re-Election Will Mean ‘The Death of Global Order’

Yuval Harari is best known as a globalist “philosopher” or “guru” closely tied to the World Economic Forum.  He is infamous for his Ted Talks and summit speeches declaring the coming abandonment of personal individualism and independence while elevating AI as the harbinger of a new technological religion.  He joyously preaches about the fusion of AI technology with the human body to give certain elitist groups the power of “gods.” His notions of the supposedly infinite abilities of algorithms to...

Shooter Theories on Trump Assassination Attempt

Good analysis about the possible origins of the shots.

I may have share with you a long time ago that the Las Vegas terrorism case is the last one I paid close to attention to.   This one I paid attention to because it’s so ubiquitous.  I know terrorism.  I was in one place when I gave a feedback to a PCR article, in another place two days later, and in state of awareness and knowledge when I wrote my “The Young Man was ‘a Patsy.'”  Up to this point, I was simply going along with the information...

Revolutionary Violence and the Left

Democracy is not the best political system, and its defects have been amply exposed in Hans-Hermann-Hoppe’s great book, Democracy: The God That Failed. But we do live in a democracy, for better or worse, and in this system, the winner of an election is entitled to take power. The Left doesn’t accept this. If they oppose a candidate, they will subject him to venomous hatred and suggest that it would be a good thing if he was killed. We saw this is the barrage of anti-Trump attacks shortly before ...

The Role of Big Government Has Changed at All Levels

The failure of big government to address the problems and woes of our society has left many of us puzzled as to how we should proceed. The large number of government programs that have failed to carry out their duties and the dim view many Americans have towards Washington may be starting to take its toll on those who think big government is the answer. The Democratic Party has long been thought of as the party of “big government”  filled with believers that government can solve and is the answe...

The Official Narrative of Trump’s Near Assassination Is Being Formed

The official narrative for Trump’s near assassination that is forming seems to be Secret Service incompetence. The security voids are being attributed to an inexperienced Secret Service team, to a lack of communication between local police and Secret Service, and to the Secret Service director’s statement that the slope of the roof made it too dangerous to have Secret Service agents on the roof. But not too dangerous for the shooter. And without regard to the danger to which Trump was left expos...

J.D. Vance Is Right and the Pope Is Wrong on ‘Climate Change’

Some on the political left-Catholic division have their panties in a bunch because Donald Trump named J.D. Vance as his running mate.

J.D. is a recent convert. Converts are always suspect by the political left-Catholic division. I converted almost 40 years ago and just yesterday got tut-tutted about being a “convert.” Stay in your lane, newbie! Learn the Faith before you opine! This big boy Catholic work is for cradles only! That’s the pitch, anyway.

Now, there are issues with J.D. and some posi...

Slowly, Then All at Once

“Biden has been jabbed at least four times. This is his third covid diagnosis. The shots are working great.” — Jeff Childers, Coffee & Covid

There was a lot of talk about divine intervention at the Republican Convention this week. The country has witnessed a rush of seemingly providential events since the fateful night of June 27th when, to universal horror, “Joe Biden” was unmasked as The Phantom of the White House. The attempt on Donald Trump’s life Saturday, with its intimations of blob invol...
