Stop Allowing Ron Paul To Speak!

Neocon Jennifer Rubin in her latest WaPo hatercle:

"We've had a bunch of presidential debates and we'll have more this fall. But already there is a sameness to the proceedings. National security comes at the end and gets the least attention. Candidates are allowed to get by on platitudes. The follow-up questions are nonexistent or poor. And far too much time is granted to Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) in what has become a sort of contest among debate moderators: Who can extract the most insane comments from the Texas crackpot?"

Happy Piece-of-Government-Paper Day

The US constitution was not adopted to restrict the central government, as the myth would have it, but to empower and enrich it and its pals. As Charles A. Beard has shown, the power elite, to take just one example, had bought up the worthless bonds of the Continental Congress, which the new centralized government redeemed at face value. They could not achieve this nirvana, so typical of subsequent events, through the Confederation. It's one of the reasons, as Gary North has pointed out, that the US immediately tripled the taxes of the freer British North America. The meeting at Philadelphia, called to suggest amendments to the Articles of Confederation, was turned into a coup against the libertarian Articles, and the Constitution was then passed through the states by trickery. The Federalist Papers, for example, is a pack of lies by master propagandists. Even the Bill of Rights, which the constitutionalists opposed, was as weak as Madison could make it. The libertarians--known then as Anti-Federalists--predicted every tyranny that the constitution would bring in its wake. Indeed, 1789 to 2011 has seen one step after another towards a total corporatist State and brutal empire, internally and around the world.

And thanks to David Franke for an additional point:

After the constitutional convention, the states could have gone either way—for or against adoption. George Washington—he who "could not tell a lie"—said in a letter to James Madison that "as the multitudes often judge from externals, the appearance of unanimity" was very important. Of course, the Philadelphia convention had NOT unanimously adopted the proposed Constitution—only 39 of the 55 delegates signed it. But each state legislature was sent a copy of the proposed Constitution, along with a "Resolve" (official transmittal document) which attested that it had been "resolved unanimously"—and a cover letter from George Washington, the most trusted man in America.

"This apparent unanimity will have its effect," Washington explained to Madison. And so it did.

That lying "Resolve of Congress of September 28, 1787" has long been called the "birth certificate" of the Constitution by historians. It appears that "birther" questions of legitimacy did not begin with the reign of President Obama.

Sorry to rain on your Constitution Day parade.

Rain, rain! Maybe the ink will run.

Attention, Southern Libertarians

Ron Paul To Address LSU-Area 'Youth for Ron Paul

Visits YFP chapter prior to Louisiana HQ opening

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that Dr. Paul will speak at Louisiana State University, his first on-campus visit since the launch of his Youth for Ron Paul initiative.

The free event, which is open to the public, will take place on Friday, September 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at LSU's Union Theater, located at the intersection of Highland and Raphael Semmes Roads, Baton Rouge.  To RSVP for the LSU event featuring Dr. Paul, please visit: http://www.ronpaul2012.com/lsu-event/.

Dr. Paul's address to LSU students and community-area members will occur immediately prior to his presiding over the grand opening celebration for his Louisiana headquarters, also in Baton Rouge.

Youth for Ron Paul, an initiative of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign, launched on Wednesday, September 7th and in its first week more than 5,000 people signed up to join the campaign and get involved.

The LSU chapter of Youth for Ron Paul is one of the campaign's first sanctioned groups.  LSU is a large campus with an engaged student body, and Louisiana is a primary state.

"No other Republican candidate inspires college students and young voters like Ron Paul because no other candidate has a record of consistently voting against government spending, tax increases, and bailouts for Wall Street and big corporations," said Edward King, the campaign's National Youth Coordinator.

"Ron Paul is the only candidate running for President in 2012, including President Obama, who is serious about ending the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya.  America can't afford to borrow trillions of dollars from China and other foreign countries to provide security for the world.  He is the only candidate who will bring our troops home, cut spending, and balance the budget," said Mr. King.

To learn more and sign up for Youth for Ron Paul, please visit: www.youthforpaul.com and "like" the Facebook page found at: www.Facebook.com/youthforpaul.

Ron Paul Hater To MC Beltarian Event

As Bob Wenzel points out. By the way, the great F.A. Harper, founder of the organization being celebrated, was an anarcho-capitalist ally and friend of Murray Rothbard's. (And Murray was a friend and ally of Ron's.) Of course, Charles Koch used to be a Rothbardian, too, if you can imagine it.

This is what we need on national TV, as Dom Armentano argues. (Thanks to Travis Holte)

Barry Manilow: This One's for You, Ron

Barry Manilow: I agree with "just about everything" Ron Paul says. Barry was a maxed-out donor to Ron's last presidential campaign. I wonder if he'd do a benefit this time? He could sing some of these.
