Ron Ripped Off Again

Writes Travis Holte:

"Here are the stats. Ron Paul, though running in a solid second place in the Iowa polls, received the fewest turns talking, 9, as well as the smallest amount of time at 8:40. Note: it was the most-watched debate yet, with 7.6 million viewers."

The Hate One

Mark "The Great One" Levin calls Ron Paul "a little weasel" for not wanting to make war on the peoples Levin hates and wants to destroy.

UPDATE from Erich Gleber:

"This guy scares me. It's like listening to a voice from Hades. The extreme anger he has towards a man of peace like Ron Paul defies logic. Unfortunately, Levin encapsulates the system of beliefs held by a portion of the electorate that, for now, opposes Ron Paul's foreign policy. Levin's the devil on their left shoulder telling them what to do against their interest, and Ron Paul is the angel on their right soldier telling them the truth.

"If more people heard Levin's emotional rant, I think it would serve as a mirror being held up to their own darker aspirations. I suspect they would recognize the danger in following someone like Levin (or Gingrich) down a path of irrational hatred and ultimately self-destruction."

UPDATE from Dennis Brislen:

"I have long advised friends to listen to Levin doing 'outrage' as a comedic performance. In this light, no one does it better. One needs little imagination to visualize veins bursting, reddened neck to face to balding headtop, spittle flying as the 'great one' does his 'thing.'

"Of course a discerning listener realizes at once that his claim not to be a neocon is at once belied by his adherence to everything PNAC stands for.

"Also of course, in his 'defense' of our troops he fails to mention that Ron Paul gets more contributions from the military than the rest of his opponents combined!

"Again, a discerning listener understands that his "defense" of our troops is really a defense of the Pentagon and those who the late Col David Hackworth, a genuine military hero, unlike the snake oil peddler Mark Levin, used to called the 'Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon.'

"Levin is outraged by the fact that Ron Paul is a serious challenger to the status quo and petrified by his popularity with the 18-30 year old demographic. As well he should be. We should take heart each time he goes ballistic about RP. It is yet another sign that we are winning."

Ron Paul Is Our Cicero

Writes Charles Burris:

"Ron Paul once again demostrated that he is the most decisive, authoritative, and substantive consistent conservative candidate on the crucial national security issues facing our nation. Americans have always rooted for the heroic underdog, the principled David facing down Goliath. By standing out from the pack of neocon clone candidates in the ABC News/Yahoo debate, Paul once again proved his forthright courage, his dedication to first principles, and to the United States Constitution and the rule of law.

"Ron Paul is our Cicero, our defender of the republic, a statesman of unblemished character and principled judgment. The twelve-term congressman has for decades courageously and consistently spoken out for a conservative foreign policy based upon a strong national defense of the essential core principles of liberty and justice as established by the Framers, a defense of the territorial integrity of the United States and its national borders. Peace, diplomacy, international trade and commerce, and the free exchange of ideas are the key elements to a constitutional foreign policy. Only by setting an exemplary example to the world will the United States of America once again become 'the exceptional nation,' that 'shining city upon a hill.'

"But Ron Paul is first and foremost a realist. America is financially bankrupt due to decades of reckless, irresponsible fiscal and monetary policies pursued by the Fed, the Congress, and the Executive branch of the state. Paul's measured conservative program of strategic disengagement from the unconstitutional pre-emptive wars of the past decade, coupled with a serious analytical reassessment of the imperial over-reach of 900 military bases in 130 nations, is the only wise, prudential course dictated by this unsustainable debt situation."
