Shut Up About Austrian Economics!

Matt Yglesias, a Keynesian Progressive, is upset with Austrians fingering the Fed as the cause of the business cycle. Naturally, therefore, he is especially upset with the ideas of Mises and Rothbard. Why can't the Paulians be more reasonable, like the anti-Paul Koch Bros.? Those plutocrats--who also opposed the Mises Institute from before its founding, and Murray for years before that--get along with the regime. Indeed, they massively profit from it. Forget Mises and Rothbard: Mr. Yglesias would have us pay attention instead  to Kochonomics and Milton Friedman, who said, like his patron Nixon, "we're all Keynesians now." In fact, young people are increasingly Austrian. Welcome to the Paulian future.

"It never ceases to amaze me how LRC continues to remain such a bastion of true libertarianism and reason; meanwhile the 'limited government' masses are continually deceived by the reptilian GOP establishment. Such is also the case for many evangelicals, who are effortlessly duped by the 'Beltway Christians.'  Latest example: Darth Bauer has launched a lying and deceptive ad on behalf of the  'Emergency Committee for Israel.' Obviously this self-professed Christian is far more interested in pandering to the Israeli Lobby than he is obeying God's commandment: 'Do not bear false witness against your neighbor.' Keep up the good work Lew, and God bless!"
