Report From Nevada

Writes Rebecca Iocca:

The attendance of the Clark County Republican Convention stood at about 3,000. The party "officials" did a quick survey of who people were backing at the beginning of the convention. Santorum and Newt had about 20 votes each. Romney had about 45% of the vote and Ron received a slight majority of about 50%. Interesting that Ron garnered a much smaller popular vote but yet has the majority of delegates in Clark County. Clark County being the most populated and powerful county in Nevada. Out of the 1900 possible delegates to go to the State convention only 1300 slots were filled more than half of the 1300 were filled by Paul people.

More interesting stuff occurred as well. The County Republicans had vote on their executive committee members. 14 out of 21 seats were up for grabs. The Paul people scored a coup by taking all 14 seats. The Clark County Republican Party is now controlled by Paul. Because of the slight majority of Paul, they were also able to vote in a few planks into the party platform. The planks were Gold Standard, Audit the Fed and the repeal of the 16th Amendment. The party machine now on its way out tried to counter these new planks with planks that favored taxes, the Fed and no Gold. They lost because there weren't enough people left to have a quorum. Yes, they tried to pull a sneaky dirty trick at the end of the convention but lost due to a lack of people.

I know Nye County which has Pahrump went overwhelming for Ron Paul. Washoe County, which has Reno is also known to be Paul country and is the second most populated county. It appears Ron has control of the 3 largest counties in Nevada.

What Is the Matter With the People of Afghanistan?

They don't want to be ruled by an alien, drone-happy military dictatorship. So we hear from the anti-Muslim, neocon imperial corruptionist, Newt.

From The Fix:

At a business luncheon in Nashville today, former House speaker Newt Gingrich said it was impossible to "fix Afghanistan" and that the United States should tell Afghans that "you're going to have to figure out how to live your own miserable life… Because you clearly don't want to learn from me how to be unmiserable." Gingrich suggested the U.S. pull out our troops a few days ago, after two American soldiers were killed by a man in an Afghan army uniform.

Hey, Newt maybe you can be a greeter for Sheldon Adelson's casino. Because even the Republicans don't want you. You're going to have to figure out how to live your own miserable life.
