Is There Non-Biblical Evidence

Is there any evidence outside of the Bible that the Resurrection of Jesus was a real historical event rather than a myth or an allegory?

Unfortunately, there is no time machine to go back in history and confirm this event that is memorialized in the way the western world divides modern from ancient history, B.C and A.D.

However there is, surprisingly, evidence revealed from celestial, geophysical and historical accounts outside of the Bible that confirm this event.

According to Wikipedia, Eas...

Some Seriously Strange Guns

Rock Island Auction company always has a collection of interesting pieces at their events, but their upcoming April Premiere auction has some seriously strange guns.

This is a First Model P.W. Porter Turret Rifle, of which just 300 were made in the 1850s. The cylinder has nine shots that all face outward rather than forward like a traditional revolver– making the prospect of a chain-fire downright dangerous. (Photos: RIA)

You may have heard of Belgian LeMat revolvers, but how about this .44...

Angina vs. Heart Attack

Another week, and it’s time for your weekly health news.

This week we feature articles on sigmoid colon pain, partial bowel obstruction, the difference between angina and heart attack, and yoga poses for a healthy liver.

Extracts from the articles are as follows:

Sigmoid Colon Pain: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment

Sigmoid colon pain can be a sign of an underlying health condition that needs medical attention, so it should not be ignored. Here we look at what the sigmoid colon is and what caus...

Nobody Is Prepared for It

Last Thursday, the Dow Jones fell 724 points. It followed up with a 424 point decline on Friday. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq fell 2.43% Friday.

Most analysts blamed the plunge on fear of an all-out trade war between the US and China. But the Federal Reserve rate hike on Wednesday also likely played a part in the stock market decline. The markets don’t like the prospect of having their easy-money punch bowl taken away.

So, could we be on the verge of a gold breakout as stocks break down?

In his late...

Good Manners Serve a Moral Purpose

A couple of columns ago I wrote about an incident that took place at the Eagle Club here in Gstaad. I indicated that if cowardice prevailed, I would go into details. I had two weeks to think about these details. Well, the trouble is that cowardice did prevail, and although the Eagle has not lived up to the requirements of a club, what happens in a club stays in a club, and I need to live up to the standards of someone who joined it sixty years ago and generously contributed to it financially...

How Stupid Is This Narrative?

Facts and evidence don’t matter anymore. It’s only the narrative that counts. Which is the main reason the inept British scripting of the recent alleged attempt on the life of ex double-agent Sergei Skripal is seriously troubling.

It isn’t that the facts don’t match the Official Narrative — that’s now expected and the standard, especially when scripting our current essential villain, Russia. No, it’s the deteriorating quality of Official Narratives in general, and, in this case, the James Bon...

Enough Is Enough

“It is often the case that police shootings, incidents where law enforcement officers pull the trigger on civilians, are left out of the conversation on gun violence. But a police officer shooting a civilian counts as gun violence. Every time an officer uses a gun against an innocent or an unarmed person contributes to the culture of gun violence in this country.”—Journalist Celisa Calacal

Enough is enough.

That was the refrain chanted over and over by the thousands of demonstrators who gathe...

The Future Is Uncertain

Yeah, keep your eyes on the road, your hand upon the wheel
Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel
Yeah, we’re goin’ to the Roadhouse
We’re gonna have a real
Good time

The Doors – Roadhouse Blues

Spending a week driving around a western state 1,700 miles from my stomping grounds in Pennsylvania provides a different perspective on the level of economic, social and political degradation impacting the country. With a daily commute along the crumbling, crummy, gridlocked deathtrap r...

Integrity Has Vanished

Among Western political leaders there is not an ounce of integrity or morality. The Western print and TV media is dishonest and corrupt beyond repair. Yet the Russian government persists in its fantasy of “working with Russia’s Western partners.” The only way Russia can work with crooks is to become a crook. Is that what the Russian government wants?

Finian Cunningham notes the absurdity in the political and media uproar over Trump (belatedly) telephoning Putin to congratulate him on his reel...

The Man Too Militaristic for Fox News

Last week, retired Army colonel Ralph Peters quit his post at Fox News where he’d been a longtime fixture. Peters had become known for his impassioned commentaries against Russian appeasers, critics of Israel, and other enemies of American democracy.

Over the last year and a half, Peters has warned incessantly against the brutal designs and antidemocratic maneuverings of Vladimir Putin. Almost as obsessively, he has declaimed against the current occupant of the White House, Donald Trump, whom...
