I’m not an allosexual, but I play one in video games

Are there any other people on the asexual spectrum who simultaneously have no desire for sexual interaction in the real world but also hop on every romance partner available in a video game? Yes. The answer is yes, because the world is too big for me to be the only person who does this.

Is this a weird thing to do? I don’t think so. It’s no weirder than other things that happen in video games. I can’t jump safely from a seven story building or fight goblins, but I absolutely do those in Assassin...

It’s August!

What a difference four months makes. I should have posted more updates in between now and then, but since I didn’t, this is the one we’ll have.

I’m published! June 22, 2023. A quick turnaround, in my view, from first booking an independent editor in March to getting the whole thing out there for the world to see. The actual editing was completed in two parts: first, a copy-edit in early April, and then a proofread in May.

The copy-edit had me nervous for several days in advance; I had never show...

It’s March

Note to self: make more deadlines.

The past few months, I’ve been able to achieve more with my writing than I have in the past several years. In my working life, I’ve long subscribed to Sheryl Sandberg’s philosophy of “done is better than perfect.” Until I’ve had a clear deadline for myself, I haven’t been able to move that sentiment to my writing life.

Things accomplished:

Writing is a long-ass journey, and getting past one’s own idea of “done” is often the biggest hurdle to getting something out there for people to see. After twenty years of writing (not that most of that was good; mostly a lot of throw-away pancakes), I’m getting my stuff out there.
