Not a haiku here, but it is a winter poem in honor of this week's Poetry Out Loud performances at the local high school. NOTE: Said performances were cancelled due to snow and have been rescheduled for January 9th.

Challenges emerge in any interaction. And there is work in both the engagement with the issues AND in knowing when to disengage. Also, another #haikucomic here and it was kind of fun to get some ideas across AND use a lot of 'A' words but still keep the syllable count. Enjoy :)

Another snow comic. I can't help it, I love the snow... and so do the wolverines :) #haikucomics rule the day!

This ongoing Monarch Butterfly discussion is totally true. Government actions are slow... but they DO take into account an extremely broad cross section of opinion and scientific fact. Long live the ESA! A LOT to be Thankful for this late November time of year.

I feel like I'm ALWAYS hopeful for snow... but this winter the wishful thinking is working! #haikucomics #winter

First Snow!

I send a weekly walrus painting to my college-attending daughter. We had our first sticking snow here at home today, and she will be excited to hear the news :)

Another haiku comic. Another double-entendre regarding the recent election... and the onset of the near darkest month of the year. Onward and upward!

I tried to be hopeful and optimistic heading into election night and the creation of this comic (usually a Monday night activity)... but I was sadly NOT "surprised" and overall disappointed with the results. This IS the democratic process at work (except for all of the gerrymandered redistricting,) but a backwards-looking fear-mongering campaign that produces this kind of result seems sad and decidedly un-American - despite all of the chatter that would try to tell you otherwise. There is all of this talk about "life" as well in our political discourse, but I worry for sure that TOO many lives of immigrants or trans and LBGTQ people will likewise be destroyed or irrevocably harmed by this result.
