And Now Back to Banana Cupcakes and Birthday Bears
Hi everyone!
Did I mention that somebody wonderful just turned one? :-)
This guy!
Can you believe it? One! Walking and talking and snuggly and hilarious! Aw, I love this spectacular little person.
I love his laugh, his fabulous bald head, the way he says "ball" and "balloon" and "bird." I love the sign he makes for "help!" and the wacky little dance he does when he's excited. I love his enthusiasm for pears and the way he'll fling himself into our arms for a hug and Read More [...]

Getting All Serious for a Minute, Sorry
Hello lovely readers!
I figure I better squeeze in an April post here before the month completely vanishes. How did that happen? Let's see: revisions, April school vacation, visiting relatives, and a particularly wonderful baby's first birthday (awww). :) Oh, and of course, the fair amount of total craziness happening right in our neighborhood recently.
I won't go into details about how close we live to the scene of the shootout and manhunt -- just that it was close enough to be worrying Read More [...]

The Griffins Have Escaped! Everybody Panic!
Hello hello hello!
Look at this BEAUTIFUL BOOK! Isn't it glorious? Don't you want it, even without knowing anything about it? ;-)
Well, you're in luck, because it's coming out TODAY! March 12! Happy book birthday to The Menagerie! Hooray! Everyone stampede over to your nearest bookstore and buy it! (Or, of course, you can do that here, here, or here!)
I can't believe I actually managed to blog about a book coming out on the actual day it's coming out. You know how this Read More [...]

Erin Hunter On Tour!
Hello everyone!
I have so so many things to blog about, but I am trying to finish a manuscript (writing like the wind! in that the wind is shockingly unproductive, keeps falling asleep, and is easily distracted by loud tiny people -- so basically just like your average sleep-deprived mother-of-a-newborn-and-a-toddler wind!), SO hopefully there will be more proper blogging soon, BUT FOR NOW, I have a time-sensitive post for Warriors/Seekers/Survivors fans, especially the ones who are always asking Read More [...]

Underwater Dragons on a Bookshelf Near You
Hi everyone!
All right, my mom is threatening to come hijack my blog if I don't post about this, so HELLO! Here I am! And guess what? Wings of Fire Book Two: The Lost Heir is AVAILABLE NOW!!!
Buy it there or here or here or at your local bookstore! My own copies arrived recently and it is SO BEAUTIFUL. You guys have no idea how much I've always wanted to have "special effects" on my books -- sparkly titles and embossing and extra things to make the covers pretty -- and these Read More [...]

The Books I Loved This Year
Hello lovely people!
I know, I know, where is my book list for the year? There must be at least two people clamoring for it, and I've already missed Hanukkah, and now there's only, like, a day to shop for Christmas! Ack! I'm sorry! But what better place to do that shopping than your local bookstore, right? :) And what better present than wonderful BOOKS! And if, like a sensible person, you are all done with your holiday shopping, then you can get these for yourself or save them for Read More [...]

Wings of Fire Fans, I LOVE YOU
Hi everyone!
I just turned in a manuscript last week, so I have to admit I've been a little behind on some important things, such as cleaning the house and giving my DVR the respect and attention it deserves (my goodness, it got so mad at me! I had like two hours of space left! I could practically hear it grumbling, "don't make me teach you a lesson by deleting all these episodes of Doctor Who...").
But even more importantly, I hadn't checked the email for the Contact Form here in a couple Read More [...]

This Monkey Wants You To Vote on Tuesday
You wouldn't want to disappoint this monkey, would you? :-)
How about this Robin Hood?
He has some pretty strong feelings about tax breaks for billionaires, as you can probably imagine. Or perhaps he's concerned about future policies regarding women's health issues, gay rights, climate change, disaster relief and FEMA, early childhood education, PBS, Sesame Street, and not strapping dogs to the roof of your car on a road trip to Canada.
Or it's possible he just enjoys shouting Read More [...]

Talking About Books in NYC
A million thank-yous to wonderful Books of Wonder for the super-fun author event they had for several of us two weeks ago. Behold! Thrilling books in the window! And...
Thrilling books right inside the door! And what's over here?...
Thrilling books we wrote before! Look at all those Pet Troubles, awww. I love bookstores. And as it happens, Books of Wonder needs our help right now -- check out that link or this one for the details -- and then please contribute to this Read More [...]

Five years ago today:
And now:
Aww. :) I didn't think I could love him more than I did back then, but now that I've seen him as a dad...I absolutely do.
Off to celebrate!
