the big bang buzz
The Los Angeles freeway system, having thoroughly vexed me yesterday, was more forgiving this morning, and I arrived at work fifteen minutes early. I am happy to report that the simple joy of driving my car across the Warner Brothers lot, between sound stages and behind golf carts and past dozens of people working to create television shows and movies, and then pulling into my very own parking space, has not diminished at all for having done it twice.
I am also happy to share that, upon...

leveling up while geeking out on the set of the big bang theory
Living out here in Pasadena means I have limited options for getting into Burbank and points North and West. Typically, I head up to the 134 and hope I get to approach 4th gear for at least a few minutes before the whole freeway turns into a parking lot.
This morning, the first morning in months that I had to be somewhere at a specific time and really couldn't be late, the 134 was a parking lot starting East of the Rose Bowl and going all the way through Eagle Rock and into Glendale...

for the record, that beetle weighed 800 pounds and was carrying a knife
Season Three of The Guild is well underway, and Felicia just released the gag reel for our first four episodes, so I thought I'd embed everything that's available so far in one convenient place:
Episode One:
"Yes. We are."
Episode Two:
"To clarify: your group should be behind the others who have arrived previously."
Episode Three:
"I'm going on the road."
Episode Four:
"I was really drunk, and he had touched Chuck Norris!"
Gag Reel, Episodes 1-4:
"Let's take a ride in my...

Memories of the Futurecast: Episode Three
Hey look! It's Monday, and that means it's time for a new Memories of the Futurecast.
Memories of the Future, Volume One, covers the first 13 episodes of TNG, so each week, I'm choosing something from one episode, and performing an excerpt for you. It will mostly be from the synopses, which is where I think the real humor of the book lives, but from time to time, I may work in some things from the other parts.
Two important things:
This does not mean the book comes out in 13 weeks. It comes...to celebrate the memory of our awesome dog
This year, we're committed to the walk no matter what, and I'm going to turn the blog over to Anne for a minute, so she can tell you why:
Just over 8 years ago, I made a right turn instead of a left out of the Home...

D&D Penny Arcade Podcast: Series Three
Somehow, I forgot to mention that the third series of D&D podcasts featuring Penny Arcade, Scott Kurtz, and Wil Wheaton (that's me!) has been available for a couple of weeks.
Here are links to the episodes that are currently online:
It's Fallcrest, midwinter, and snow has settled over everything. Acquisitions Incorporated has been holed up in their favorite sanctuary, The Silver Unicorn, enjoying the warmth of a fire. All is calm… until they meet their old...

Memories of the Futurecast: Episode Two
Having clawed my way far enough out of fevertown to think and speak (mostly) clearly, I decided to take advantage of the lull in construction next door and record this week's Memories of the Futurecast.
Memories of the Future, Volume One, covers the first 13 episodes of TNG, so each week, I'm choosing something from one episode, and performing an excerpt for you. It will mostly be from the synopses, which is where I think the real humor of the book lives, but from time to time, I may work...
Behind the rabbit? It IS the rabbit.
I'm slowly but surely clawing my way back into the land of the living with the relentless determination and singular sense of purpose that can only be found in a recently reanimated corpse on a quest for brains. It's appropriate, because I feel very much like I'd imagine the recently-deceased would feel, and just last week my friend asked me via e-mail, "hey are you dead?"
This was the worst flu I've had in years, and the worst sickness I've had since I got mono (with bonus strep throat and...

in which a proclamation is made
I seem to have come down with some kind of post-PAX flu. It's not the Swine Flu, but I am coughing so much even I have grown tired of saying "my god, it's full of stars."
I can't really focus long enough to write the PAX post I want to write (it's at about 30% completion, I guess) so please allow me to share the proclamation I made before the concert on Saturday night:
I'm not going to lie to you, Marge: it felt pretty awesome to do this, and I think my fellow PAXers had as much fun hearing it...

wil wheaton gets lucky ... sometimes
This was the ultimate highlight of my #PAX 2009, and watching it again just now brought tears to my eyes again.
I'm not worthy of something this awesome. Thank you Jonathan, and Paul, and Storm, and Molly for making me feel cool. I
