New Projects – Sam and Tobias!

Congratulations to Sam Heughan and Tobias Menzies on their new projects!

"Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist, Outlander’s Sam Heughan Set For Screen Gems Love Story, ‘Oxford’"

From the article:

"Heughan got a great deal of attention for his work in the final Outlander episodes, in which his swashbuckling character was raped by his nemesis. In a coincidence, the actor who played that other role, Tobias Menzies, also just signed on for a Screen Gems film as he will play a key role in Underworld: The...

Wedding favorite…

Some of the readers asked about our younger daughter’s wedding on…er…"Penis Island" .

Jenny just sent me this beautiful photo, as she says it’s her favorite one of their wedding, and it shows a good bit of the White Chapel at Mount Stuart, which a few people had mentioned. Thanks, Jenny! It was a wonderful day! (Click on the image to view a larger version.)

“Expedition” (from Book Nine)

Below is an excerpt from Book Nine of the OUTLANDER novels, which I am currently writing. Note that there are SPOILERS…

He thought they were near the edge of the land grant now; he thought he recalled this rocky outcropping. Granted, there were thousands of similar rock formations in western North Ca...

Aachen Images

European Championships Aachen 2015: Beatriz Ferrer-Salat & DelgadoFor those of you who like lovely horses, dressage, and sporting events—great photos from this year’s Aachen events, by our lovely German translator, Barbara Schnell— who is a talented photojournalist when not translating the Outlander novels.

Well, she still is that, even when translating, but you don’t get any photos until she’s done and can go play with horses. The fact that she can go to Aachen and frolic with her lens means that…DRAGONFLY IN AMBER’s new German translation is done! And I’...

Still, many things thrive in this climate—including prickly pear cactus (above) and geckos (right). This little pink guy (he’s about three inches long) is one of the f...
