Joyfulness

Withpure delight I dance with glee

Inwishful geniality

Amidstjocund hilarity

Ofmirthful merriment.

Besidethe shores of stormy seas

Theneed for laughter beckons me

Tofind the heart of gaiety

Sooften Heaven-sent.

Thejaunty joviality of

Simplefools like you and me

Mayseem a triviality,

Butthat would be a lie.

Disseminatingcheerfulness

Becomesa never-ending quest

Thatany eye might manifest

Andnone may quick deny.

Agiddy gladness buoys hope

That“Gloomy Gus” will learn to cope

Andsavor the kaleidoscope

Thatfills the soul with glee.

Andjoy will sing a merry song

Invitingall to sing along

Sohappiness can join the throng

Andset the spirit free.

Innocence

Whatis it about a child

Thattouches the heart,

Evokesa smile,

Takingemotions that extra mile?

Innocence.

Andwe as nubile grown-ups lose

Thesinlessness unless we choose

Toturn deaf ear, refuse the muse of

Innocence.

Whymust we be turned critical

Withinterests apolitical

Andire befit a raging bull?

Noinnocence.

Abitter taste, reality

Wheredredges of acerbity

Lendyearning for the memory of

Innocence.

Andwhen the maze of days is done,

Thejourney o’er, the battle won,

Bethankful that your web was spun with

Innocence.

Industry

Diligenceshould not go unrewarded,

And

Perseverancenever stops to rest,

While

Thepower of commitment, angst and effort

Is

Neverpacified to come in second-best.

So

Iturn an active hand with zeal and gusto

To

Discoverand uncover wealth of praise.

Through

Noother trial than honest dedication,

Like

Amanic mouse meandering a maze.

The

Worldkeeps spinning round ad infinitum,

But

Lifeknows nothing of infinity,

So

Westruggle just to keep the wheels revolving

And

Givefair hope to blessed progeny.

And

Ifour efforts prove to be successful

We

Cangive the glory all to industry.

Impartiality

What’sfair is frank is fabulous when

Theace is downed and done.

Sohard to hold neutrality

Whenheld under the gun.

Butequal even-handed trial

Isnecessary meat

Tofeed the beast of justice fair

Whoseldom knows defeat.

So,how might I stay steadfast

Toimpartiality and

Holdmy head above the fray

Insilent probity?

Ido not choose.

Iwill not choose.

I’llpose upon the fence

Andlisten to the lot of you

Decrythe where and whence.

Andwhen pretense and posturing

Arefaded to demise

Asoft rebuttal trills the air

Onwings of gentle butterflies.

Integrity

Lifeis filled with challenges

Totest the moral boundaries of

Honorand morality that

Stretchfrom here to there to where

Thebreakers of stability are

Cordonedfrom civility

Andsimple serendipity

Givesbattle to despair.

Andwe are want to rise above

Temptation’strap, to tug and shove

Anddistance us from those we love

Throughavarice extreme.

Whilerighteous indignation lopes

Tomuddle every dream and hope,

Welearn that life’s kaleidoscope is

Seldomwhat it seems.

Therebel in me wants to fight

Forevery cause I know is right

Resistingevil with the might of

Even-handedtruth.

Withcandor and sincerity

Toreach beyond what needs to be and

Musterthe integrity of

Tenderunspoiled youth.

Idealism

Oh,to be young again,

Onthe first rung again

Climbingthe ladder of life,

Filledwith a wonderment,

Honestand innocent,

Nostress, no struggle or strife.

Hopeis a fleeting thing,

Hummingbirdon the wing

Flitteringflower to flower,

Knowingwith certainty

Nectarflows wild and free

Waitingfor him to devour.

Trustis a grand event,

Gentleand Heaven-sent,

Welcomeand giving in form.

Openfor all to see,

Fraughtwith fragility,

Vulnerableto hurtful harm.

Andwhen in the end

We’reback where it begins,

Wheredreams brush horizons of dawn,

Theway becomes clear and

Wewalk without fear knowing

Thisis the place we belong.

Humor

Whimsy,wit and gaiety,

Playfuljocularity,

Banter-bornbuffoonery and

Joyful,joking jest.

Comedywith clowning laughter,

Sadbefore but happy after,

Teasingmirth to rise to rapture,

Feelingwholly blessed.

Revelryin crystal giggles

Dancingnaked wrapped in wiggles,

Bouncingflesh that jumps and jiggles

Fallingon their asses.

Sillyclown so sweet and sappy

Laughing,crying, sad and happy,

Fatsuspenders swank and snappy

Cheeringup the masses.

Goofyslapstick, never subtle,

Fallingflat-faced in a puddle,

Leapingup in full rebuttal

Readyto reply.

Humoris the great redeemer,

Mannafor the hopeful schemer,

Mindfulmuse for restive dreamers

Finishedwith a sigh.

Humility

Behindpassive docility

Isa layer of inner tranquility

Wherethe strength of resolve

Isthe linchpin to solve

Allthe problems of modern civility.

Thefaçade may be humble and shy

Andthe wherefore may exceed the why,

Butthe answers you seek,

Thetimid and meek,

Maybe hard for the hordes to decry.

Noone wants a braggart for friend,

Butyou don’t want to hurt or offend.

Youhear with disjoint

Onlyup to a point,

Butthen turn a deaf ear in the end.

Thereis only so much one can take

Whenmucking the mire with a rake.

Youtry to hold back

Whenyou’re under attack and

Staycalm for humility’s sake.

Humbleness

Please,don’t mistake timidity

Forweakness or fragility

Whentempered by humility and

Modestreservation.

Thissheepish unpretentiousness may

Seemto leave me powerless,

Butdon’t expect me to regress to

Grievoussubjugation.

Ilove this unassuming screen

Thatshields me from harsh sunlight’s gleam

Wherepathos dwells behind the scene

AndI can look demure.

ButI have loads of confidence

Kepthidden deep behind a fence

Withoutcontention or pretense

Orfaceless overture.

I’llbe not prone or hesitate

Tosilence or self-deprecate.

Ihave no grand ego to sate,

Oryen for spotlight’s glow.

Butburied deep beneath the shroud

Afierceness lingers loud and proud,

Waitinglike a thundercloud

Toravage all below.

Hope

Hopeis a wish whispered into the wind

Withthe prospect of promise on

Paleprimrose petals,

Waftingthe waltz of warm

Dawn’sdistant dream,

Immuneand protected from

Life’snudging nettles.

Stridingwith head held high

Intothe onslaught

Cloakedin a confidence

Nonemay deny.

Keepingthe faith of

Themillions of millions,

Seekingthe answers to

What,when and why.

Hopeis the angel who

Rideson my shoulder with

Browraised, unfazed by peril and woe,

Keepingmy eyes focused

Brighton the future

Withclear optimism

WhereverI go.
