the query project

What an honour it is to be included in Plenitude’s The Query Projectthis week.

The Query Projectinvites queer Canadian authors to recommendwritingthat hashada deep, personal impact on them. It was very, very, very, very hard to come up with just one. In fact, it was impossible. I thought about it for so long that Brett had to nudge me more than once to get my submission together.

Grain

I love getting mail.

I especially loving getting the author copies of literary journals that have publishedmy stories.

Three copies of Grainarrived today. It looks great, and is full of writingthat I cannot wait to read.

Thanks go out to editor Alice Kuipersfor her deft touch and keen eye. Her edits helped make my story shimmer.

Who’s Reading What?

I have a story in issue #136 of The New Quarterly!

CUDZC8mUEAITcZE

I’ve been working onfireworks for about twelve years, so it is trulydivine that it has a home. TNQ put up a nifty list of what books thecontributors are readingto go along with the issue. I love lists like that. I feel like I’m sneaking a peek at what’s on someone’s bedside table.
