The case for making AI your creative brainstorming partner
In a world where we’re increasingly pressed for time, AI can help us with creative breakthroughs.
Creativity has been heralded as our last irreplaceable skill, the one thing machines could never touch. Yet in offices everywhere, teams hit the same walls: blank screens, stale ideas, the exhausting churn of brainstorming sessions that go nowhere. The promise of human ingenuity feels increasingly at odds with the reality of modern work, where the demand for fresh thinking has never been higher, but the conditions for producing it have never been worse.
Women are being erased from medical research—again
People need to speak up against federal actions targeting women and under-represented groups.
When we started Equal Research Day on June 10, 2022—the anniversary of women finally being included in U.S. clinical research in 1993—we intended it to be a celebration of progress and a call for more inclusive science. We wanted to mark how far we’d come and how much opportunity still lay ahead. We never imagined that just three years later, we’d be fighting to keep that progress from being undone.

Find peace in a time of chaos
When navigating the political storms domestically and globally, balance fight and flight.
A sense of unease has settled over the country—a shared anxiety fueled by headlines, social media, and persistent uncertainty about the future. From escalating conflicts in the Middle East to disturbing incidents of political violence here at home, Americans across the spectrum are grappling with instability and disruption. As an avid scuba diver, I (Craig) have learned that when seasickness strikes, the best remedy is to focus on the horizon. In times of uncertainty, we need that same kind of long-range perspective.
The climate lever even seasoned sustainability pros miss
I spent two decades in sustainability before I realized insurance is one of our most powerful tools for change.
After 20 years working in sustainability, I thought I understood most levers companies could pull to drive impact. As a former CEO and longtime sustainability leader, I have spent my career trying to drive systems change by making businesses and supply chains more sustainable and resilient, advocating for transparency, championing responsible sourcing, and pushing for more equity in business.
Where are all the designers?
Design is and must be elevated as an integral part of corporate strategy
In the last decade, the buzz around design has captured global attention. People everywhere are increasingly interested in design and seem to recognize how it impacts nearly every facet of our lives. Popular culture also places a high value on design, yet the corporate C-suite too often walks a different path.
The Vogue AI model backlash isn’t dying down anytime soon
A Guess ad featuring an AI-generated model appeared in the magazine’s August issue. Critics say it looks ‘cheap and desperate.’
AI-generated “models” have now made their way into the hallowed pages of Vogue.
5 reasons you should build a small business, not a startup
The allure of startups and why most people should choose to be small-business owners instead.
In Silicon Valley, it seems that everyone’s aspiration is to “Be A Founder.” I chatted with Jon Westenberg, who thinks that most people should focus on building a small business instead of chasing the startup dream.

How leaders can be transparent about their belief systems without alienating anyone
For a business, there are advantages to taking a political stand—but there’s a fine line between brand enhancement and destruction. How can a leader toe the line?
Not long ago, leaders largely steered clear of the rough-and-tumble of politics. They inhabited a culture of impartiality, and for the most part stayed in their lane, rising now and then when called upon to offer observations about their specific sectors.
How to deal with loneliness at work
One of the biggest predictors of happiness at work is whether or not you have work friends. Here are tips on how to make them.
