new initiative by AOL's Convertro division aims to show marketers how changes in weather can impact purchasing decisions on tablets, smartphones, and desktop computers.

LocoRobo is an early-stage startup using robotic toys to teach kids the fundamentals of programming.

I'm in a laboratory at Drexel University watching a remote-controlled robot do a spastic breakdance across the floor. The fist-sized, brightly colored bot looks simple enough: It has two wheels, two antennae, and what appears to be a friendly face. But it has a mission much bigger and more ambitious than its tiny form factor: This thing wants to teach kids how to become programmers.

Reddit CEO Ellen Pao Resigns

Steve Huffman, cofounder and former CEO of Reddit, is stepping into Pao's role.

Ellen Pao, the embattled Reddit CEO whose firing of talent director Victoria Taylor last week sparked a user revolt, is leaving the company. The New York Times reports that Pao is stepping down "by mutual agreement," and that Reddit cofounder Steve Huffman will assume her role in the interim. Pao will stay at Reddit as an advisor through the end of the year.

Twitter-owned livestreaming app Periscope could soon become a crime-fighting tool. Police in the city of Bangalore—often called the Silicon Valley of India—want to encourage citizens to livestream crimes as they happen, essentially asking bystanders to broadcast crimes to the Internet in real time.

Senators: We Want FCC Investigation Of "Ridiculous" Cable And Internet Prices

The legislators are demanding the FCC investigate cable companies for unfair pricing and poor customer service.

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and prominent Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren are demanding the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigate what they're calling the "ridiculous prices" of broadband Internet and cable television in the United States. The two legislators are joined by Minnesota senator Al Franken and Massachusetts senator Ed Markey in their belief that a lack of choice in Internet and cable providers is leading to artificially inflated prices and poor customer service.
