Washington, D.C. Proposes 16 Weeks Paid Family Leave
D.C. workers may soon have some of the most generous family leave benefits in the U.S.
A new bill currently making its way through Washington, D.C.'s city council could give working parents in the nation's capital some of America's most generous benefits. Introduced by the D.C. Council on Tuesday, the proposed plan would give all new parents up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave; the legislation would also apply to other significant personal events, like tending to an ailing family member.

In a short-lived tweet, Elon Musk disclosed details on one of Tesla's forthcoming cars.
What is Tesla's next move? According to a tweet that CEO Elon Musk recently posted—and deleted soon after—it will be a new car called the Model Y. The vehicle is separate from the company's upcoming lower-cost sedan, the Model 3, which will go into production in 2017 with a price tag of about $35,000.

The FDA opens the door for personal genetics company 23andMe to sell tests for Bloom syndrome.
An FDA decision summary released today allows DNA-testing company 23andMe to market a genome test that screens for Bloom syndrome, a rare disorder that leads to a predisposition in carriers toward the development of cancer. While, on the surface, this may seem like a minor change in policy, it is significant given the complex relationship the FDA has had with 23andMe over the last two years.
