On Tuesday, BuzzFeed and Vox Media threatened to withdraw from participating in South by Southwest's popular tech festival due to the cancellation of two panels related to harassment in the gaming world. Barely a day later, SXSW has seemingly reversed its decision: One of the panels in question has been reinstated, and SXSW is now considering hosting a day-long event about online harassment.

Today in Tabs: The Haunting of Tabs House
Milo & The Roaches would be a good band name though.
When the end times come and Earth is a dead, poisoned husk, there will be nothing left but cockroaches and Milo Yiannopoulos calling them "dickless wonders" and "social justice roaches" but still somehow attracting slobbery profiles from journalists who ought to know better.

Why This Former Media Executive Created The World's Scariest Hayride
It turns out, you can pin some of the blame for your night terrors on Shark Tank's Mark Cuban.
On a recent Saturday night, I found myself being chased through a claustrophobic maze by a maniacally laughing clown. I was visiting the Haunted Hayride—a Halloween-themed extravaganza, helmed by an radio industry transplant, that is expanding across the country with a little help from the ABC series Shark Tank. The clown didn't get me, but the dozens of other people in the maze with me all enjoyed the scare.

Microsoft's Outlook Mobile Apps Get More Polish--And Just A Dash Of Sunrise
New versions of the email/calendar app for iOS and Android do the same things as before, with more panache.

Instead of building something from scratch—as Microsoft is normally wont to do—the company had acquired a startup called Acompli and given it the ultimate stamp of approval by rebranding its apps as Outlook. It swam against the mobile-app tide—which currently favors unbundling features into discrete apps—by packing ambitious email, calendar, and cloud-storage features into one experience.

Finally, a desk that acknowledges all we want to do at work is be horizontal.
Maybe you slouch in your Aeron chair. Maybe you tried—and failed—to make using a standing desk a habit. Maybe, like me, your preferred working position is curled up on a sofa.

If your work team uses the messaging app Slack, you might find that the interface looks a bit different this morning. In a blog post on Monday, Slack explained the changes that some of us here at Fast Company spotted in our sidebar when we logged on today: Slack has added the ability to create group direct messages and has merged the former category of "private groups" into "private channels."

The NBA's VR "Experiment" Far More Compelling Than The Presidential Debate
It's still early for the technology, but after 18 months of private testing, the NBA was finally ready to unleash VR on its fans.
It turns out, watching an NBA game in virtual reality is a lot more compelling than watching a presidential debate.
