Latin Night!!!!

It's Dancing With The Stars night, and more importantly it's Latin Night.

Disclaimer: I don't dance. I don't know anything about dancing, which doesn't stop me from loving and sometimes hating certain dance routines.

Rumor and Val - (Salsa) Nicely done. Apparently Rumor's whoo ha is a deadly weapon, but no blood was spilled.

Charlotte and Keo - (Rumba) Bruno just called her dumb but pretty (he thinks I'm pretty *flutters eyelashes*). I loved the song.

Michael and Peta - (Salsa) (Pitbull!!!!) Michael didn't break her. That's a good night.

Riker and Allison - (Salsa) Who is this kid???? He brought the sexy!!!! I feel dirty.

Suzanne and Tony - (Salsa) I hope I can salsa at 68. The woman can shake her moneymaker.

Chris and Witney - (Tango) I like the song and I'm a fan of the no-shirt-tuxedo. Tossing a twirling girl in the air and catching her on the way down is impressive.

Robert and Kym - (Rumba) My favorite Shark. Now I'm a fan of the no-jacket-tuxedo. He's buff. And sensitive. Don't get me started on how charming he is or how adorable they are together.

Patti and Artem - (Cha-cha) I love love loved her costume, the color and cut. She looked amazing.

Willow and Mark - (Paso) Fire and Ice.

Noah and Sharna - (Tango) WOW! Well done.

Nastia and Derek - (Samba) Me like. Primal.

To sum up the evening, there were plenty of bare, hairless man chests. It was a good night.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I loved this sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!

I wish wish wish I could have watched the original and the sequel back to back. I love Sonny (Dev Patel). He reminds me of my son. And even if he didn't, he is fun and funny and adorable (like my son). And handsome (also like my son). His dialogue was charming. Maggie Smith's character (Muriel) remained brutally honest to the end. Not a bad thing.

Yes, I pretty much knew what was going to happen, because they dropped hints like bombs, but I enjoyed the journey. I smiled a lot and chuckled a few times. Watching warm weather movies depicting exotic locations when it's cold outside is always a treat. The movie had romance and lovely visuals and music and dancing and an upbeat message.

What would I have changed? I would have swapped Richard Gere (Guy)  and David Strathhairn's (Ty) roles, although David was great in his role. Actually, I thought Richard Gere was wrong for the movie. Sorry. But that might just be me.

Thoughts?

I Love DWTS!

I missed week one (season 20 - can that be right?) of Dancing With the Stars :(

So I'm playing catch up with My Jam Monday. As always, I don't know who some of these "stars" are. I will be spending the next few weeks getting to know everyone.

Who am I rooting for? I love Kym and Robert (he is my favorite Shark). Rumor and Val blew me away. Loved his impression of Bruce Willis. Michael and Peta surprised me (in a good way). Who is this Riker guy? Wow!

For me the music is as important as the dance. I always love Pit Bull - goes without saying. Of course Rumor Has It (Adele), and Somebody That I Used To Know (Gotye).

Who are you loving? Fav song? Best dance of the night?

Going, Going, Gone...

Bitter sweet...

I have requested, and been granted the return of my four books published through Ellora's Cave Publishing: Lily in Wonderland, This Side of Dead, Dodging Cupid, and Holiday Hostage. If you have a burning desire to read them...after March 24th, they may no longer be available. I have removed the covers, buy links and blurbs from my blog.

Where do we go from here? Not sure. I will probably one day self-publish them. For now, I'm going to concentrate on the next book, which is Star Kissed, and the next....

Blast From The Past Review from Romancing the Book

Review: From the moment Dodging Cupid jumped off I was sympathetic to Jenna. The sweet gal with the Valentine’s Day blues due. It’s been a while since she had a lasting relationship, and the coupled up friends and family giving her sympathetic glances have worn her patience thin. In order to boycott the sickening sweet scene all together Jenna opts to spend her time in the laundry mat. There’s nothing romantic about a spin cycle right?

Wrong, in walks Del, the sexy biker with an unexpected quirky sense of humor and impeccable manners. Del is a tall drink of water (as my Gran would say) with stubble, a Harley and a black leather jacket. Yes, just the yummy eye candy you need when doing your sexy lingerie. (Can you sense the sarcasm?) The attraction between them combined with their easy banter leads Del to participate in her ban of the holiday. The trouble is cupid seems to have it in for them.
This short had me laughing out loud, covering my mouth in disbelief, and smiling. This is a sweet treat filled with wit, and humor. Though Del and Jenna didn’t get down and dirty in the sheets, there was plenty of sizzle and sexual tension.

Spring Fling Blog Hop

Happy first day of spring!
And welcome to the Spring Fling Blog Hop!

I loooooove spring. It's my favorite season. This might sound strange, but summer reminds me that autumn is right around the corner, and that makes me think of winter, which is so cold. Spring is the beginning of sunshine, flowers, open-toed sandals (pedicures), and sleeveless shirts.  Picnics. Strolling hand in hand. Love. Weddings. Honeymoons. What's your favorite season and why? Leave me a comment with your email address and I will draw a winner of an ecopy of Lily in Wonderland.   AmazonBarnes and Noble BlurbLily Tucker is down on her luck and considering a career strutting her stuff around a pole when she gets a call about an unexpected inheritance. It’s every girl’s dream—her estranged grandmother’s kicked the bucket, leaving Lily a house on a private island in Wonderland.
When she reaches Wonderland, though, she finds a house that’s more like a hovel, a job waiting tables at the local diner, and a crime wave that seems to begin and end with Lily herself. Sexy deputy Toby can’t decide if he should arrest her or drag her off to bed—until it becomes clear that Lily’s not the criminal. She’s the target. Click here to enter the grand prizes. Check out the other participating blogs for more great prizes.

Adventures in Housesitting

While my mother and her hubby are where the sun does shine, I'm acting as houseitter. Basically I feed a cat that isn't theirs, water plants (the plants are theirs) and keep the house in one piece. Sounds simple enough. Even for me.

December 26 - I left before the sun came up and returned after the sun went down. I had my car checked out because I think the hill my poor Subaru climbs each day will be the death of it, but the service dispatcher says no, I'm crazy (he didn't really say that, but might as well have). I ate leftover pasta from Christmas eve and did laundry and dishes. I did not do the Risky Business dance I said I would. I did do some serious editing and light reading, sprinkled with chatting online.

December 27 - My day went something like the day before. I conned the service department into checking out my car again, but turns out I am still crazy -  nothing is wrong. There is no strange burning smell coming from the rear driver's side tire area. It's my imagination. Ate leftover cheese, crackers and summer sausage from Christmas eve and drank a beer (maybe two). I indulged in a bubble bath. I have not seen "the cat" but something ate all the cat food. I watched The Scapegoat on PBS, which was very good.

December 28 - Ventured out to get gas and groceries. I bought everything I need to make my morning smoothie, but forgot to pickup my magic bullet. I walked 5 miles. I'm going to actually cook tonight. Chicken and rice. I broke the turn knob in the shower. Hope my mother doesn't read this. Note to self - get some glue.

Bargain!!!!

If you missed Pleasant Lake P.D. for free on Amazon, never fear. It's still a bargain at 99 cents on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. If my math is right, which it probably isn't, that's about 900 words per penny.
Blurb Alexandria Moreno, parking enforcement officer for the serene town of Pleasant Lake, has signed on with the FBI to nail a gorgeous suspected criminal, Miguel Diaz, who’s passing himself off as a legitimate businessman. Alex’s assignment is to use her feminine wiles, of which she has few, to infiltrate Diaz’s world and find some evidence for a conviction. To complicate matters, she’s teamed up with Detective Roman Plow, who is her ex-boyfriend, though the FBI doesn’t know it. As they focus on retaliating for past wrongs, real and imagined, their smoldering love/hate relationship brews. They’re not exactly an ideal team. With her bumbling nature, a steamer trunk full of emotional baggage, and no investigating skills, Alex spends most of her time reminding herself that the tall, dark, and handsome Miguel Diaz is not her real boyfriend and struggling to keep from falling into his bed. As she tries to dig up dirt on her undercover lover, the steamy investigation leads to a fight for her life. But who is behind the attacks?
