Not Your Mother's Book Club
We heard from the publisher and the good news is that the first book in our These Are the Days series is in the editing phase. We've been warned that there is a backlog of books at this stage and the process could take quite a bit of time. While I was thrilled to hear that the book was moving forward, I was also feeling antsy and looking for something to distract me as I waited for the next phase in the publication process. When my neighbor and new friend on Facebook wrote on my wall...

Book Release Update
Good news, not-so-great news. The good news is our publisher, Comfort Publishing, is now working with a new book distributor, Music, Books & Business. The not-so-great news is that all book releases have been pushed back. Our contact at Comfort said that progress will pick up after the first of the year, so I will keep you updated. Thanks to all for your support and patience!

Spreadin' the News
To follow along with all of the social media-ing (try saying that five times fast!) I've been doing to promote the upcoming release of book one of the These Are the Days series, I wrote an article about how the book came to fruition. I thought it would be fun to document the whole process because as my memory has shown since the birth of my children, I'm not so good at ...

Masters of the Obvious
My husband, John and I are fairly big reality tv fans. OK, I'm a big reality tv fan and he tolerates it because he is such a good husband. Our favorite shows tend to be competition based – The Amazing Race, Project Runway, Top Chef – but we both cringe during the contestant private interviews. It's not because these people are vulnerable, in stress-inducing situations, fighting for an incredible prize. No, it's because there are about a dozen moronic clichés that we tend to hear over and...

My Own Private Library
I've always wanted my own library. I like to cook and while a gourmet kitchen would be nice, I'd still rather have a floor to ceiling bookshelves – comfy leather chairs – wood paneling everywhere library in my home. I once worked with a woman who had an authentic library in her house. The home was over a hundred years old and was complete with a fireplace. When I visited it was being used as a storage room. What a waste.
Last spring we set up a corner of our basement as a make-shift...

Social Media – 101
First of all, I want to say that I have the greatest husband in the world. While the rest of us lazy slobs were lounging around on Labor Day, he spent the entire day putting together a website for the These Are the Days series and it rocks!
We wanted the site to be interactive so we can include our readers in the development of the series. There is a blog where they can get a behind the scenes look at the creating and publishing process. There is also a forum so they can discuss the books as ...
