Win exclusive prizes from your favorite authors!

Ever dreamed of scoring personalized career advice from Deep Work author Cal Newport? How about receiving a personal shoutout on Susan Orlean’s Twitter feed, getting a one-on-one writing consultation from Roxane Gay, commissioning the copyediting services of legendary Random House copy chief Benjamin Dreyer, or owning exclusive process notes from Jennifer Egan’s The Candy House?

These prizes and more, donated by authors, agents, and other publishing professionals, are up for grabs for a great cause — and the auction ends at 9pm ET tonight, 9/26!

Authors for Voices of Color is an online auction raising money for racial justice in publishing. I had the idea for the fundraiser back in June 2020, and the first auction raised more than $14,000 for vetted non-profits. Last year we cleared $23,000, and I'm so excited for the auction's third run, with close to 100 authors and publishing professionals on board!

I'm offering a signed UK edition of We Were Never Here with a never-before-seen version of the first chapter. I'll even reveal my interpretation of that controversial ending! You can bid directly here.

After you bid on mine, check out some of the other inspiring offerings from Emma Straub (All Adults Here), Caroline Kepnes (YOU), Jia Tolentino (Trick Mirror), Samantha Irby (Wow, No Thank You), Susan Orlean (On Animals), Phoebe Robinson (Please Don't Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes), Jessica Knoll (Luckiest Girl Alive), Jennifer Egan (The Candy House), and many more! Proceeds go to programs at We Need Diverse Books that diversify the publishing industry from within.

We Were Never Here is in paperback — with exclusive bonus content!

Big news—the paperback of We Were Never Here is officially out in the world! It's got a brand new book club guide, an exclusive bonus chapter from "Kremily's" adventures, and—my personal favorite—a sneak peek of my next thriller, which will be out in summer 2023! I hope you love the paperback edition as much as I do; you can snag a copy here. In equally thrilling news, People.com ran a feature about the Netflix adaptation of We Were Never Here, the real-life inspiration for the book, and what's cooking for Book #4. Read it here!

Preorder my latest—and win my first two thrillers!

Hi! I'm super excited to share to share the cover & synopsis for WE WERE NEVER HERE, out in July! It's about two BFFs whose friendship is stretched to the limit after they kill a backpacker in self-defense. This is my favorite book I’ve worked on yet—dark, twisted, and character-driven—and I hope you love it as much as I do. You can read about it and see preorder links here. Might I suggest preordering from an indie bookstore? This Twitter thread (by me!) explains why it's one of the most impactful ways you can support an author. Do you have a go-to independent bookseller? If not, Bookshop.org is a great option!

I'm also thrilled to be hosting a giveaway. THREE lucky winners signed first-edition hardcovers of THE LOST NIGHT and THE HERD on Instagram. Head here to enter by Friday!
