Hey, Look, a Blog

I haven't blogged here in awhile. I feel silly writing duplicate blogs here and blogspot, and then I forget to write new blogs here. But I'm writing one now. So there.

I am really digging this new layout thing at Goodreads. They've made a few adjustments lately, and I like them very much.

Here's what I'm up to: I'm not releasing a new book until April at the soonest, and it makes me feel like a lazy bones. But there's just too much going on, and releasing a book is a lot of work.

The book I will be releasing next is Lost Without You . It's about a teenage girl who goes missing and her friends' frantic attempts to find her. That's a really simple description, and I hope to come up with something better soon.

I should be putting out a sample chapter and a cover for it next month. Then maybe start getting out ARCs by the end of March. Maybe?

Right now, I'm writing a book called Wake. It's part of a new series, but I'm not going to say much about it, other than that it's YA, and I'm working on it. I should have more information on that later on.

As soon as I finish up Wake, I will be starting the sequel to Hollowland. The tentative working title I'm playing around with in my head is Hollowmen. That's not official, though. It's only tentative.

And this summer, I hope to get started on the final book in the My Blood Approves series, which at this point, is still untitled.

So that's some updates on some things I'm working on. And there you have it.

The end.

Ascend is for Sale

Ascend is for sale on Amazon right now!!

Not sure when it will be on for sale on Barnes & Noble. I published them both at the same time, and last time I published a book, B&N went up faster. But Amazon went really fast this time. It took about 24 hours exactly, and it usually takes around 48 or more hours. I think Amazon went faster because I emailed them about my name.

I did also email B&N because of issues with PubIt! being generally stupid. So maybe that will speed it up. But I expect Barnes & Noble have Ascend for sale within the next 24 hours. But again, if it's not up on B&N by Friday, I will be publishing it through Smashwords, and you'll be able to buy it from them for the Nook.

At this time, I have not control about when Ascend will be for sale at B&N. Once I hit publish, it's out of my hands.

I will let you know as soon as Ascend is for sale on B&N. But here's the link for Ascend on Amazon: get it here.

And please, please be mindful of spoilers in comments and reviews, especially since there's a delay for Nook readers. There are discussions on Facebook and you can start some on Amazon too. Just alert people when there will be spoilers.

Thank you guys! I hope you all enjoy it! I know I loved writing it!

Oh, on a less than happy note: Australia is flooding something major. I'm secretly a huge fan of Australia, which is why I set some of Wisdom there, and what's happening there is really sad. Here's a link where you can donate money to help: http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/

Torn (Trylle Trilogy, #2) is now for sale!

Torn is now available at Amazon for the Kindle for $2.99 and in paperback at Createspace for $8.99. Torn is now available at Barnes & Noble now, also for $2.99.

To get Torn at Amazon, click: here. To get Torn at Barnes & Noble, click: here. To get Torn in paperback, click: here.

A reminder: Switched is still 30% off through Createspace if you enter the code PUFRUS43. To buy Switched in paperback, click: here.

Also, I think I'm going to keep Switched on sale for $.99 for a few more days, but it will be going back to it's regular price by the end of the week.

And, in case you didn't know, new books are really lonely without any reviews. So if you enjoyed Torn (or even if you didn't) please leave a review, so other people know that Torn isn't alone.

Also, because I've gotten trailer happy, I made a trailer for Torn . (I'm currently working on one for Ascend as well.)

If you missed the other blog: I have a blog with the trailers for Switched and Honalee posted: here. Also, the trailers are posted are under the tabs at the top - Switched with the Trylle Trilogy, and Honalee with the Witches of Honalee.

So please check out Torn, let me know what you think, and tell all your friends. ;)

Sorry the blog is brief. I haven't slept yet, and my sleepiness is kicking in.

Zombiepalooza!

My first Zombiepalooza post is about to go live at my blog, and I'm excited.

What is Zombiepalooza , you ask? Well, I'm glad you did. Here it is:

October is all about Halloween and zombies. To celebrate, I'm hosting a month-long event at my called Zombiepalooza on my blog. They'll be tons of guest blogs, scary stories, and giveaways.

I'm actually a little humbled and happily surprised at the support from authors and bloggers. The sheer amount of stories and stuff donated is pretty awesome.

If you love zombies, or if you simple love Halloween, you should definitely check out Zombiepalooza at my blog. It will be well worth it.

The first post of Zombiepalooza has a giveaway for a signed paperback, and there's still a lot more to come.

gigantic massive giveaway

I'm going to give away tons of stuff. The whole My Blood Approves series as paperbacks, plus pins, magnets, bookmarks, a t-shirt, and any other swag I can come up with by the time the contest ends. Maybe a bag too, to put it all in. I'll autograph stuff too, if you want. I'll pretty much send you any thing My Blood Approves related that I have. I'll even throw in a paperback of Switched, and if its ready by then, an advanced copy of Torn. That's six books, and lots of other stuff.

To find how to win all that, check out the contest at my blog

release date fail

Wisdom is not out yet. A reader emailed them, and Amazon told them that there's a problem with the content, and they're doing testing to correct it.

I don't know what that means, so I emailed Amazon, asking them what that meant and if there's anything I can do to speed up the process.

I have not heard back from them yet.

I haven't uploaded the book to Smashwords yet. I wanted to wait until after the book was up on Amazon, because I prefer when things are sold on Amazon, because I wanted to see if Wisdom could break into top 100 books on Kindle.

However, I'm not going to make people wait around forever since I said it would be out. But I am going to try to wait until Amazon emails me back before publishing at Smashwords.

With that in mind, I'll keep you apprised of the situation, but Wisdom will be made available by Tuesday at the very, very latest. It may only be available at Smashwords, but it will be for sale somewhere. I promise. (Unless Smashwords doesn't let me publish it either... then... I don't know what I'll do).

Here is the link for the Amazon page for Wisdom if you want to check out: Wisdom . I promise to let you know as soon as I know anything about it or if it goes up.

I've also decided that I'm never going to set release dates for anything. I'll set release months, and then I'll let you know when it's out, and it'll be a big fun surprise instead of frustrating waiting around.

Wisdom is out in paperback thru Lulu, and it's much more reasonably priced than the other books despite being longer because I didn't do the option to have it sold through Amazon. You can buy the paperback: here. In September, I'm making a switch to Createspace for my paperbacks that will make them much paper, so waiting might not be a bad idea.

Onto brighter news. Here's an interview I did with Alex from Tales of a Teenage Book Lover: here. He also hosted a twitter chat party on Sunday, and it was a lot of fun. I think we'll be doing more for future book releases.

Also, I did a guest post at Once Upon a Review about birthdays, and Khelsea is having a give away for a paperback of My Blood Approves and a t-shirt. So check that out: here.

5, 4, 3, 2...

Lots of stuff I'm gonna try to say in this blog, so stick around if you like answers to questions you might have.

First: I've uploaded the first three books in the My Blood Approves series and Switched up to Smashwords. So people who have a Nook or other ereaders can read all the books in the series. I'll get Wisdom up on Sunday on Smashwords too.

If you're interested in Smashwords, check it out: here.

I've also revamped the covers, for no apparent reason, and the new covers are up on Amazon now. Well, they should be. Soon.

Also - the giveaway ends at Midnight tonight, so that's 22 hours left. If you haven't entered, it's pretty much your last chance to win all 4 books in the My Blood Approves series in paperback. It's a good deal. So enter!

Okay - now onto the important business. I've been getting lots of questions about when Wisdom will be out and why it's not available for pre-order and if it will be out in Kindle the same day as paperback. Here are the answers:

Wisdom will be out in Kindle the same day as paperback.

It's not up for pre-order because of how I publish books - meaning I do it myself and I don't have a publishing company setting the release with a timer with Amazon.

Which brings us to the final question: When will be Wisdom be released?

I've been touting August 22nd as the release date, but really, that's the latest it will be available. I don't have tons of control about when Amazon decides to put it live. I upload it, and they tell me it takes 24-48 hours.

When I released Switched in July, it took 12 hours for it to go live. Wisdom is all ready to go, uploaded and sitting on Amazon. I'll click the publish button later today, and then anytime between Friday night and Sunday morning, Wisdom  will be out.

So, if you're a really zealous reader, you can check Amazon this weekend, and it might be up sooner. If you have other things going on, I can guarantee that Wisdom will be up Sunday at the latest.

Also, if you do check and happen to notice that Wisdom is on Amazon, and I haven't said anything yet, can you please let me know? I'll be checking all weekend for its status so I can let you guys know as soon as its up, but sometimes I miss things.

And on a similar note, I'd like to say that I'd really enjoy it if you bought Wisdom this weekend. I have a feeling that I can get in the top 100 books on Kindle with it, and I'd like to be in the top 100.

But that's just a me thing, and you all feel free to buy things whenever you want. I'm grateful to everyone of you buying my books, and I hope that you continue to enjoy the series as much as you have so far.

Thanks guys, and I really can't wait to hear you all think of Wisdom. :)

Theaser Thursday

On Tuesday, it was my mom's birthday, and my cat's. So happy birthday to them!

The countdown says that it's only three days until Wisdom comes out. The good news is: it's completely ready to go. I just finished some last minute touch ups (everything I do is always last minute), and it's all ready set.

Also, for no real reason, I made a store of My Blood Approves paraphernalia. Right now, it's just a super awesome t-shirt and some magnets. And a really, really cool pair of shoes. Really. You can check out my "store": here. (At the time of this pointing, the shoes aren't showing up yet. But they're awesome.)

Which leads me to a follow-up question: What kind of stuff would you like? I like stickers. I haven't made stickers, but I like them. If you were inclined to buy/win stuff relating to the series, what would you like? Hats? Socks? Posters?

I'm not making any promises about making anything. I'm just trying to see if there's a demand for anything. Because if there is, I'll make it. I like to appease the reader whenever possible.

I did a really fun interview (well, I think it's fun) at Once Upon a Review on Monday for the birthday bash that Khelsea and a few other bloggers are having. I meant to post it then, but I've come down with the plague, and only recently began recuperating.

You can read the interview: here. While you're there, you should check out the other fun stuff Khelsea has going on for the big birthday bash.

I also meant to post a Teaser Tuesday from Wisdom, but again, the plague kept me away from the computer. So I'm doing a belated Theaser Thursday:

"Does it come with a flux capacitor?" Milo asked.

"No." Jack looked at him like he was an idiot.

"So it can't really travel time?" Milo asked.

"Well, no. Of course not," Jack said, sounding deflated. "It's a car."

"An old car." Milo crossed his arms over his chest.

Okay. That's way more than two sentences. But I don't care. I do things differently for Theaser Thursday.

And in a final note, you only have until Friday at Midnight to enter to win the giveaway!

Teeser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading, but I'm doing things a little differently. Teasers are usually taken from the book you're reading, but I'm taking them from the book I'm working on - i. e., Wisdom.

Here is how it works:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two or three “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

So with that in mind, here are two teasers from Wisdom:
"I knew that Peter and I couldn’t live together anymore, not if I wanted to make things work with Jack, but I didn’t like the feel of empty space. But it wasn’t just his absence that made the house seem empty."

And there you have it.
