Thank you and goodbye, Clifton College.
This morning at 9 the Clifton College families who hosted the Bahay Bata kids gathered at the Clifton College Pre to say goodbye to the kids. The kids boarded a bus to Heathrow, where they took the afternoon Etihad flight back to Manila. I have the most heart-rending videos of the farewell reception, which I [...]

Merienda Extra
Look who turned up at the merienda at the Philippine Embassy yesterday: national men's rugby team member Harry Morris, who lives in London. A reporter from TFC was covering the merienda, and she interviewed Bahay Bata's Mercy Lewis, Ryan and Jonel of the kids team, and Harry. This is what Harry looks like if you [...]

Bahay Bata at Twickenham Stadium
In the morning the kids toured Twickenham Stadium (seating capacity: 82,000) in London, home of England rugby. They got to sit in the royal box, where the Queen and her family sit when they watch England matches. In the afternoon Ambassador Reynaldo Catapang hosted merienda for the children at the Philippine Embassy. Pancit! Lechong manok! [...]

And we're back.
This is Clifton College, our host in Bristol. Clifton alumni include John Cleese, Sir Michael Redgrave, and assorted Middletons. Yesterday at the fun day I met some Pinoy nannies who explained to me why Kate cannot have the title "Queen". I thought that was Camilla Parker-Bowles. Ah well the rules of marriage and succession escape [...]

Walang wi-fi
Sabi ko na nga ba kailangan kong magdala ng dongle na may data roaming. Sabi nila, Okay lang yan, siguradong may wi-fi sa first world. Wala! Walang wi-fi sa tennis club and rugby pitch! Kaya mamaya pa ako magpo-post pagbalik sa paaralan.

Abu Dhabi airport, 7 am
I don't play any sports so I cover tennis and rugby, and I don't like children so I'm traveling with the kids' rugby team from Bahay Bata Orphanage in Angeles City. Makes perfect sense in the context of my life. Touraid, "a UK-based charity who offer support to UK schools and clubs wishing to host [...]
