Sylvester and Sylvestet

It’s been a while since we shared the lives, loves, and liberties of our backyard Rabbits. Not for lack of rabbits, I assure you. My home state…did an interesting thing a while back. They brought in several tens of thousands of rabbits and let them loose. Estimates range from 20,000 to 50,000. Sometimes I wonder … Continue reading "Sylvester and Sylvestet"

Fresh Ink Group’s Beem Weeks and Stephen Geez interview me on TheVoiceOfIndie

Yes, indeed, it is true and will happen on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, 8pmET on BlogTalkRadio’s TheVoiceOfIndie podcast. I love talking with people. I’m always learning. The topic doesn’t matter, it’s the individual who interests me. Long ago I worked for NASA and was having a ball. At a family dinner, my brother-in-law, John, asked … Continue reading "Fresh Ink Group’s Beem Weeks and Stephen Geez interview me on TheVoiceOfIndie"

The Alibi (A John Chance Mystery) – Chapter 5 (Brand new! Again!)

Yeah. Well. So. As I wrote in The Alibi (A John Chance Mystery) – Chapter 6 (Brand new!), The Alibi continues to grow and get restructured. I mentioned in that previous post – Surprise! – Quite a bit got added and edited in June. The throughlines are pretty well established, individual character plotlines are merging. … Continue reading "The Alibi (A John Chance Mystery) – Chapter 5 (Brand new! Again!)"

You Take the Low Road and I’ll Take the High Road

Having created a way of keeping both Raccoons and Coyote happy, we still have a few raccoon not quite appreciating our handiwork. This video was taken shortly after we invoked our solution and, as you can see, some refuse to benefit from our…generosity? beneficence? skewed Two-Legger attempts at…whatever we were attempting. And it’s nice to … Continue reading "You Take the Low Road and I’ll Take the High Road"

The kind folks at BizCatalyst360 just published my Nothing Ever Dies of Old Age in The Wild, about recognizing and understanding how The Wild sees to itself and thereby sees to us. Regular readers know my experiences of The Wild are documented under WildLife on this site’s menu.   Enjoy!

The Alibi (A John Chance Mystery) – Chapter 6 (Brand new!)

Yeah. Well. The Alibi continues to grow and get restructured. Surprise! Quite a bit got added and edited in June. The throughlines are pretty well established, individual character plotlines are merging. Characters are changing and growing, allegiances are shifting. The Alibi‘s Boston is a fun place to be. This chapter is one of the ones … Continue reading "The Alibi (A John Chance Mystery) – Chapter 6 (Brand new!)"

Stephen Parrish and the Editors of Lascaux Review’s “The First 100 Words”

This gem is must reading for any authors, wannabes, and students of writing. Probably because I agree with 99% of it (I question some of the examples). First, it’s a guidebook to getting past editors’ and publishers’ bullsh?t meter. I stress getting the opening correct when talking with writers and few get the message. Read … Continue reading "Stephen Parrish and the Editors of Lascaux Review’s “The First 100 Words”"

A Solution

I ended last week’s WildLife post with “A problem to be solved…”. Ever inventive, Susan (wife/partner/Princess) and I came up with this solution. It works well. And as will be seen in future WildLife posts, our solution also makes for handy seats while dining.
