“…The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated…”
I’m sorry. *hangs head*
Ok, so it’s been a REALLY long time since I’ve posted. I’ve been offline for a while, trying to right the boatagain after my world turned literally upside down – in an awesome way. I promise to get back to work finishing the last promised post – entitled Sex and the Art of Sandwich Making – really soon.
In the meantime, pass the mustard.
Smooches,
Shannon

Pssst – This Message is For You!
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes, cards and notes – you made it a very special birthday indeed! I actually had a CAKE – with my name on it, no less – the first real birthday cake I’ve had in years and years. Thanks to Yolanda for the sweet surprise.
To my Twitter friends – I haven’t been on much lately, but I’m still lurking in the background. I appreciate every single tweet, RT, DM, #FF and #WW you guys throw my way.
To my Facebook friends – ditto, haven’t been interacting very...

As Promised – The Viking Story
In my last post, I promised to tell you about the Viking. Gather ’round, kids. Heh.
THE VIKING ON I-95
Chocolate…dark chocolate ripple with French vanilla….maybe a banana split with all that pineapple goo….I clutched the steering wheel with one hand and absently rubbed my outer thigh with the other. I wasn’t up doing cardio before the freaking birds every morning so that I could blow it all on ice cream. Yogurt, then. Fat free Dutch chocolate…
“Aunt Shanny?” a small voice piped up from the back...

Mermaids and Vikings
This past Saturday I spent several delightful hours at the RWA Sunshine State Romance Authors meeting. A guest of the Mermaids, I was honored to meet authors Loretta C. Rogers and Dylan Newton among the attendees – they made me feel so welcome!
Getting to the lovely town of Homosassa was quite the adventure. I decided, after having looked at the map and seeing only a few jogs in the “here to there” line, to forgo using the GPS and just use a map, confident in my navigational abilities.
Wrong, w...

I Got Sunshine!
W00T – I’m happy to announce that I’ve been honored with the Sunshine Award! Thank you so much, Sharon Buchbinder!MWAH!
The rules are that I’m supposed to share 10 facts about myself, so…
1. I’m a vegetarian but have a secret craving for animal crackers. I always bite their heads off first so they don’t suffer. Ditto with Peeps.
2. I have an extremely good – although so far unmarketable – ear for mimicry and tend to unconsciously mirror thespeech patternof the person I’m talking to. I don’t do i...

Checking in…
Just checking in to say hi and let you guys know that I'm doing the obsessive writer thing, typing as fast as possible to keep up with the Muse. She's dropped in for a visit and always one to capitalize on a good thing, I'm going with it. Working on a super duper top secret project now, real hush-hush, I-could-tell-you-but-then-I'd-have-to-kill-you stuff. Heh.
In the meantime, thought I'd share this with you…this is EXACTLY why I don't watch American Idol. The condescension in the judge's...

Kony 2012
Watch – this is important.
Yeah, I know it's long – put your life on hold for 29:59 and watch it anyway.
After you've watched, share it. Pass it on. Get it out there.
Please.
Thanks,
Shannon xoxo

So what do you want to know?
In my paranormal romance The Celtic Knot: Suit of Cups (coming from the fine folk at Lyrical Press on 12/03/2012) reading the Tarot plays a big part in the story. At one point, our hero Ian turns to the cards to answer some nagging questions and creates a spread that I like to call "The Lover's Triangle."
You'll have to read the book to find out just how that spread works but in the meantime, here's a little help creating your own.
Creating Your Own Tarot Spreads
There are numerous books with l...

Valentine’s Day
Today is Valentine’s Day, thefestival of love celebrated the world over with hearts, flowers, candy and sparkly jewelry for those who love and are loved. There will be candlelit dinners and undying confessions of heartfelt sentiment for some. There might even be a few marriage proposals and for certain there will be a whole lot of kanoodling going on.
That being said, not everyone will have a good day. There will be those for whom no florist delivery arrives. They sit by the phone, waiting for...
