Amazon Review - The Briton and the Dane

Elisabeth Marrion rated it 5 of 5 stars
What a great read. I did not know what to expect and was transported into the 9th Century England from the very first page. This is for lovers of history, or simply for lovers of a good book. I loved it.

I loved the intrigue, the love, the romance and betrayal , at the time of Alfred the great, roaming in my very front garden. So to speak. All here in rural Hampshire/Dorset. I could easily identify with the main Character Gwyneth, innocent, yet feisty. Trying to break the norm of what was expected of her at that time in history. Foolish sometimes, and brave at other times. It was also a very easy read, so do not be scared if you think it might be heavy. To the contrary. I will take the next instalment on holiday certainly will let you know.

Amazon Review - One Good Redneck Mama: A Texas Memoir by Cheryl Casey

5.0 out of 5 stars A laugh on every page!, May 15, 2013
By Tribalchick
This review is from: One Good Redneck Mama: A Texas Memoir (Kindle Edition) This collection of memories and anecdotes is funny....no really funny! At one point the other evening, my partner had to witness my naked dash to the bathroom I was giggling so much! I'm sure a few witty nuances passed me by as I'm from England but this did not detract from a most enjoyable read. Perfect coffee break reading...loved it:-)

Amazon Review - The Briton and the Dane

Tasty, May 12, 2013
By FPW "Wayne DePriest" (Fridley, MN, USA)
This review is from: The Briton and the Dane Second Edition (Kindle Edition) Mary Ann Bernal's foray into 9th Century Britain is a feast for the senses. The history buff part of me appreciates the research done to portray the period with accurate detail of the times. The story teller part of me recognizes the talent and effort displayed in using that historic accuracy to weave a tale of love, honor, treachery and betrayal wrapped in enough intrigue and suspense to satisfy. And, of course, the reader part of me just flat out enjoyed the story.

There are two more courses in Ms Bernal's banquet, plus a companion tale for dessert. Excuse me while I activate my Kindle. I'm hungry.
