The Book Experience

I always think it's cool when a story extends beyond the pages it's written on.  When it becomes more than a book; it becomes an experience. Like Harry Potter. It was about the story, but it was also about so much more. People didn't just show up at the store for the book release, they showed up in full wizard garb, declaring their House. They wanted to immerse in the atmosphere.

Hooray, hooray, I can finally cast Jen!  I've had the actresses picked out for quite some time, but I wasn't quite satisfied with my 1980s option. What do you like with your book?

Whether I'm reading or writing, there there are three things that maximize my enjoyment: coffee, red wine (beverage choice dependent on the time of day), and my jammies.  And so I find it quite delightful  that the three businesses where Three Daves is available for purchases happen to be a coffee shop, a wine store, and a lingerie boutique.

That's right, I've hit the small time---I am "Local woman" according to the headline in the free newspaper that will smack down on asphalt driveways throughout my town tomorrow morning.  Local Woman.  I feel like I ought to go out and get myself some sort of superhero costume.  "Oh no! Two Great Sites

In celebration of me finally landing on a description for this blog, Ruminations on the 80s and writing, I'd like to point you in the direction of two wonderful websites that make the 80s and writing even more fun. 
First up Goodreads.  My first thought about Goodreads was that it's sort of like Facebook for writers and readers.  But different.  Like Facebook, you friend people and get a feed on their Goodreads activity, but everything here is focused on literature.  You  fill bookshelves...
