Flood's Edge Going Into Semi-Retirement
A severe bought of insomnia threw me off of my story writing/posting schedule last week. That, combined with some differing thoughts on posting stories and a desire to tweak the system, has led me to put the project into semi-retirement. I intend to post stories once a week for the #fridayflash project, and those will go under the Flood's Edge header.
I fully intend to bring the project back up to full speed again sometime soon. I believe it as a tool for my own creativity and as a...

At Flood's Edge: Week 3 Review
I'm on my lunch break at work, so this update will be a little stream-of-consciousness-style.
I've hit a somewhat low point in the project, much of which is summed up in a previous post: A Moment of Doubt. #17 Never Went Inside

I am dead, at the end of a poor but full life.
My regret is the university building on University Drive. Those steps flanked by trimmed hedges and topped with glass.
I walked by every day before I swam in meat, grease, potatoes.
The building was a chance, a change, but more than doors separated us.
It ain't easy. Not when you're poor and afraid.
I never went inside.
