Contest: Take a Rev to School
It's that time…end of summer, back to school. Some of you are probably dreading it, and some can't wait to get back into the swing of things. So to brighten up your back-to-school month, I will be having a school-themed contest that will run for the month of September. It is open internationally—in Anglophone countries—and is not limited to students. Here is the deal:
Because of the very encouraging feedback from French teachers who have read DIE FOR ME and recommended it to their students, I have decided that I want this to be my new TAKE A REV TO SCHOOL word-of-mouth campaign. You've already been telling your friends about the book (for which I am eternally grateful). Now I'm asking you to tell your French teacher.
If you're taking French classes: easy. Just take your copy of DIE FOR ME to school, take a photo of you holding the book standing with your French teacher. Give me the teacher's name and the name of the school so I can check them out. And then post it on my FB page.
If you're not taking French classes: no problem. Just hunt down the French teacher in your school and do the same thing.
If you're not even in school: this is a bit harder. Track down the French teacher in your kids' school. Look one up on the internet. Ask your friends if they know someone who teaches French. And then arrange for a DIE FOR ME+French teacher photo shoot.
What you are supposed to tell the teacher: Just tell them what you thought about the book and suggest it would be worth a recommendation to their students. Or you can just give them this note from me. And that's it! Post the photo of you two and the book on my Facebook page, and you're in the contest.
I will keep the contest open for the entire month of September, and then will choose random entries to win:
An ARC of SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi
An ARC of INCARNATE by Jodi Meadows
2 ARCs of UNTIL I DIE by Amy Plum (once they are out)!
other prizes (that I will come up with during the next month)
AND…every entry will win a signed and dedicated book plate from me. Want to see one? Okay: Aren't they pretty? (Especially with your name on it?)
So go forth…find a French teacher, spread the news, and take a revenant to school!

Amy Plum's Daily Devoirs: The Hideaway Dev
I once had a shrink who told me to think of my perfect place of peace and calm – an actual physical location, whether beach, desert, mountains – and retreat there in my mind when I was feeling overly anxious. What would your Perfect Place of Peace and Calm be? It can be somewhere you've been or a completely fictional place. Describe it.

Amy Plum's Daily Devoirs: The Shifty Waiter Dev
This one stolen from a question an interviewer asked me.
You're sitting down to dinner at a fancy restaurant. The waiter arrives with your domed plate, looking shifty. He sets it down and dramatically removes the cover. Everyone in the restaurant gasps. What has he served you?

Me Reading DIE FOR ME in Paris (on the Ile St. Louis)
Remember when Vincent took Kate on the Vespa ride across Paris? And then afterward, when he took her to the quay to talk DEEP STUFF? Well, you can see it yourself on this video that I shot last week where I read a little passage from that chapter!
Here's a little taste of Paris from me to you!
