Here it is, ready for your your viewing pleasure!
Yay!

New cover for Wings of Desire!
I’m taking a bold step in trying to self-publish my very first novel. I recently got the rights back from my original publisher. I’ve hired an editor and just got the final cover from the Artist.
So what do you think of the new cover?
This is pretty much a trial and error thing. I’m still new to the self-publishing thing, so it will be an interesting adventure to say the least.

Calling All Authors for a Good Cause
One of my good friends came to me the other day. Each year her place of employement puts on a silent auction to raise money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). She explained to me that the people at her work are voracious readers and asked if I wanted to donate an autographed book. Unfortunately, the only book I have to offer right now is a fantasy erotic romance, so I'm not sure how well that would fly in the work place. I did explain that I am a member of a vast community of writers and would put the request out there to my fellow authors.
The auction is slated for September 16th. I'd like to have all donated books by September 12th (September 14th, at the latest). If you are interested in donating to a great cause, please mail your books to:
Cynthia Arends
5013 Wallingford Dr. NW
Comstock Park, MI 49321
If there are any other questions or concerns, please email me at arianna@ariannaskye.com or sidney@sidneyayers.com.
Thanks!

Contest Update — Extension
UPDATE:
I've decided to extend the contest for the two $25.00 gift cards and autographed book until May 5th. That gives you a little more time to get crackin' on those unicorn stories. Don't worry about it being too short. Even 100 words will do. Just don't go over 1,000 words. It's all about the laugh factor.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Whew! Do you all remember the short but yummy feature I used to run? Hint: I used to post this feature on a Friday. If you're still wondering, it's Fudge Filled Friday. Well, I had to stop posting those sinful recipes for fear I'd increase three more pant sizes.
Well, last night I had to slip back into the dark side. My employer decided to have a party and we had to bring in some sort of green food. I ended up making fudge. I had a whole bunch of butterscotch and white chocolate chips I needed to use up, so I melted them all, adding some green food coloring and condensed milk. I then went to pour the almond extract and–OOPS!–I poured more than I wanted. Awww butterfingers… or is it butterscotch fingers?
I managed to pour off most the extract, but because it was already going to be extremely almond-y, I added some slivered almonds to the mix. I was so worried it wouldn't turn out or it would taste like crap. Thankfully, after adding a bit more white chocolate that I found and a little vanilla extract, it cut down the almond taste. It ended up tasting pretty good.
I brought my creation to work, but much to my dismay (or delight, since I can now bring it back home with me) not many people at my work ate any. Maybe all that green gooey goodness scared them off!
Here it is in all it's glory… The green goodness that is Butterscotch White Chocolate Almond Fudge

Well, I suppose this qualifies as weird too, wouldn't you say? LOL

Two (technically three) chances to win!
Buy a copy of Wings of Desire from March 5 – May 5th to be eligible for a drawing for a $25.00 Barnes and Noble gift card. Email proof of purchase to arianna (at) ariannaskye (dot) com.
If you've already purchased or can't afford to purchase the book, do not despair. Send me a funny story about unicorns (no more than 1,000 words) to the same email address. You will also be eligible to win a $25.00 gift card to Amazon (My book is available there *hint hint*)
Also, I'll select one of the stories that I liked the best and send you an autographed copy of the print book.
So basically, you have two chances to win a gift card and another chance to win an autographed book (a $14.95 value!).
Good luck to everyone!
Hugs!

Yep, it's a Twitter contest
With the release day for Wings of Desire a week away, I've decided to have a Twitter contest. I'm a creative writer, but not so creative when it comes to hashtags. I'd like a fun and flirty hashtag to fully make this release day extra special for my tweeting friends.
For all my non tweeting peeps, a hashtag looks like this #snappyhashtag — Basically in Twitter, you can click on this hashtag which gets indexed in the twitter search so you can easily find related tweets.
Here's how to enter, simply send @arianna_skye a tweet, for now using the #ariannaskye hashtag with your hashtag suggestion. The contest is open until Midnight February 7th. The winner will be announced when I unveil the chosen hashtag.
Entries so far include:
#wings submitted by RKCharron
#wingsofDesire also by RKCharron
#FeyLay by rebyj
#flyintodesire by CariQuinn
I know there are more people out there who want some hot muscled faerie action. So keep those tweets coming.
PS: If you aren't on Twitter and want a chance to win a book, I'll be at the Eternal Press launch party on Sunday and Romance Roundtable on Sunday and Monday with more free book opportunities.
Cheers!
