now in print…
The Blind Pig! Buy the paperback now from my eStore!
Very soon now I will have my website — http://www.writtenbyelizabethdougherty.com — updated with all of the links for buying the book. As of right now, it's available in paperback from the eStore, in eBook format from Smashwords and Barnes and Noble, and in iBook format for the iPad through iTunes.
Within 3 weeks the paperback will be available through Amazon.
Ah. I feel like I've accomplished something. I have a long list of things to do...

the librarian has spoken
Got proof #3 today. I'll be reviewing it and hope to have the paperback up for sale by the end of the week!
And what have I learned? First, the Library of Congress is pretty quick. They assigned my LCCN within 8 hours. I'm impressed, especially since their website estimates a 2-week turn.

one step forward, two steps back
I received the second proof of my book a few days ago! It looks fantastic. I'm happy with the internal layout and with cover adjustments. So it's time to hit Approve and publish the thing already, right?

First, I've sent CreateSpace my updated files — new formatting for the insides, a little darker here and there on the cover, and several typos fixed — and the second print proof is already on its way to me. I've also updated my Smashwords copy to fix all the typos I found in the print...

accept discomfort…
…and use all your mental resources to keep it from slowing you down.
That's right. Another lesson from marathon training that applies directly to novel writing (and self-publishing!).
This week's discomfort? A blister on my left foot pinky toe.
In the publishing department, I'm cruising along. I'm a little uncomfortable that my eBook sales have stalled, but part of me is glad. I've been reading my print proof and it's amazing how many little flaws become more apparent in a 5.25×8-inch bound...
