Aurealis Magazine review of my forthcoming anthology SPAWN 2
Aurealis Magazine #176 includes a fabulous review of my forthcoming anthology Spawn 2: More Weird Horror Tales About Pregnancy, Birth and Babies. In part, reviewer Chris Foster writes, "Behind the demonic cover are 22 short stories, all of the utmost horror quality…which is both a blessing and a curse. This collection contains some of the most stomach-churning, gruesome and warped stories you’re yet to read..."

Short story published in ANDROMEDA SPACEWAYS MAGAZINE #96
Andromeda Spaceways (formerly ASIM) is a quarterly fantasy and science fiction magazine published in Australia.
Issue #96 includes my horror short story, "Mothers and Sons". Thematically, I wanted to explore parent-child relationships, and how complex, fraught, and plagued by contradictions they can be.

Fabulous review of my crime-horror novel BODILY HARM
Book blogger, writer and anthology editor Robin Knabel of Inky Bones Press has posted a fantastic review of my crime-horror novel Bodily Harm (Undertaker Books, 2024).
In part, Robin writes, “Sheldon nails the emotional trauma of being a victim in a handful of scenarios, too. There were moments when I found myself backing away in disgust from the characters and scenes in the book as I read it as well as moments when I was tearing up thinking about the trauma some of the characters experienced. Sheldon doesn’t hold back, and the result hits you square in the chest. I love a book that elicits real feelings and emotions from me as I read. Kudos to Sheldon for hitting the mark repeatedly."

Back-cover blurb of Bodily Harm:
Survival has a price… Is Cara ready to pay it?
From the moment she feels a gun barrel shoved into her back, Cara Haynes is thrown into the brutal world of vicious criminals and the police officers tough enough to pursue them.
Cara has lived in Melbourne just a few weeks when she survives an armed robbery at her local pizzeria. Traumatised, afraid and alone, Cara’s lifeline is Mick Thompson, a detective from the Armed Offence Squad, whose compulsion to find these violent offenders keeps him awake at night. But soon, Cara doesn’t know the difference between safety and danger…
Written by award-winning author, Deborah Sheldon, Bodily Harm is a fast-paced, savage and disturbing read where one woman’s nightmare becomes a detective’s obsession.

Interview with the Horror Tree about my crime-horror novel BODILY HARM
The Horror Tree is a resource for writers, offering submission information on all the latest horror anthologies and publishers. The Horror Tree also posts articles, news and interviews.
The Horror Tree has posted an interview with me about my forthcoming title, the crime-horror novel Bodily Harm, which Undertaker Books will release on 11 October.
In part, interviewer Robyn O'Sullivan writes:
"When I think of Deborah Sheldon as an author, the term sui generis comes to mind; her work is in a class of its own. Unafraid to plumb the depths of human experience in all its extremes, Sheldon’s writing often breaks through the accepted genre frameworks..."
