Lauren Beukes gives The Damned a Thumbs Up!

THE DEMONOLOGIST Wins the International Thriller Writers Award!

This past weekend, I went to New York City to, well, be in New York City AND to attend ThrillerFest, where my novel, The Demonologist, had been named a finalist for the International Thriller Writers Award for Best Hardcover Novel. I had no expectations of winning. After all, the list included the likes of Lisa Gardner, Lee Child and Stephen King. I was honest-to-god happy to be nominated.

And then, at the awards banquet, in front a ballroom of hundreds of colleagues and agents and editors and thriller lovers...they called my name. It was the fifth most exciting night of my life, after my wedding night, the births of my two children, and one night I can't speak about in public (!)

Such an honor to be recognized in this way, and in such company. Onwards, demons!

THE DEMONOLOGIST Paperback Out Today in the USA!

The trade paperback edition to The Demonologist is released by Simon & Schuster today in the US and is available at all fine (and maybe even a couple not-so-fine) bookstores across the land. Something to celebrate even as the melting snow floods the basement. (sigh)

THE DEMONOLOGIST - #3 Bestseller in Canada!

Just wanted to share the good news that the paperback edition of THE DEMONOLOGIST has made it on to the Globe and Mail's Canadian Fiction bestseller list in its first week out…at #3!! Thanks for reading. Seriously.

Been a while...

…but hey, there's life and all that. And by "all that" I mean a book to write, and a previous book to talk about here and there.
