Beltaine Update
Dear Friends: In the coming year I’ll be attending the following gatherings to teach:

The first two books (Dark Water and Dark Fire) of my Dark Man paranormal romance trilogy are out both as e books (Smashwords.com) and print on demand books (Amazon Createspace): I’ve written them under the pseudonym Carrie Bryce. I’m about 49,000 words into the third book which I hope will be out this summer. You can check it out at my Carrie Bryce blog. Once that’s done I’ll turn my attention to finishing the second book of my Purification Trilogy, a sword and sorcery trilogy which I’ve written under my mundane name, C. A. Ennis. Sunday Giveaway Dark Man Trilogy
To celebrate the launch of the Dark Man Trilogy, I’m starting a Sunday giveaway. Each Sunday for the next few weeks I’m going to post three questions for people to answer. First three people to post the correct answers will get free Dark Man e books. You can find the answers in the first chapter of the book, which is in a post on my Carrie Bryce blog on Wordpress. If you don’t make the first three this week, don’t despair: I’ll be posting questions every Sunday for the next several weeks so you’ll have another chance.
In the first book of the Dark Man trilogy, three women come together to solve a 300 year old prophecy that threatens their future happiness:
“Daughters of blood.
Kin of heart.
Cursed by prince.
One of fire.

Challenge the curse.

Son of Earth.
Break the bane,

For centuries their family has waited for the right conditions to occur to finally confront the Dark Man and end his haunting. Each must find the right partner to make the prophecy come true, but the Dark Man will do everything in his power to prevent this. They must defeat him, or their ancestors will suffer his curse.
So here are this week’s questions:

Previews of Fionuir's Mural and Dark Water
I've put the first chapters of my sword and sorcery novel, Fionuir's Mural, and my paranormal romance novel, Dark Water, on my blogs for you to check out.
Fionúir's Mural is the firstbook of the Purification Trilogy, a coming of age story in the swords andsorcery genre, an unforeseen hero's quest set in a world called Eilir.
This is the story of a 13 year old boy in exile and out of favor whodiscovers himself the subject of a 250 year old mural painted by the prophetess Fionúir, depicting two famoushistorical battles and one that has yet to occur. It is about the boy's quest across foreignlands to discover who the other figures depicted alongside him in the mural areand what part they play in his life and in Fionúir's prophecy. It isabout the boy discovering who he truly is and what he is capable of and masteringthat knowledge to face his world to overcome adversity and defeat the enemieswho would see him and his family dead. Heis helped by a dream companion who has been with him since his youth, a mentor,who turns out to be the spirit of one of the heroes of the first battledepicted in Fionúir's Mural. It is about breaking with tradition and doingwhat works, blazing a trail instead of following the beaten path. It is about perseverance and honor. It is about finding true friends and truelove. This is the story of 3 women from 3 generations of a family hauntedsince the 17th century. Their ancestor Katherine defeated an unwanted suitorand the sorcerer that was his accomplice, in doing so trapping the demon thesorcerer had summoned in this world to bend her to their will. Ever since thisdemon, the Dark Man, has haunted her descendants. 300 years later a familytragedy finally brings these 3 women together to fulfill their ancestor'sprophecy that her descendants would one day defeat the Dark Man. But fate hasbrought them face to face with descendants of both their ancestor's suitor andhis sorcerer, and the final battle for domination looms. They must decipher themeaning of the prophecy and use it to survive. In Taming the Tides Beadiscovers her gift and her place in the prophecy with the help of hergrandmother, aunt and cousin. It is about Bea learning to use her power to freeherself from her family's designs and the Dark Man. She must succeed to protecther new found love and her dreams of a future free of the Dark Man.

Imbolc Update

Dear Friends: As I mentioned in my previous Sabbat update, I tried to sendout Sabbat greetings as I've been doing for years using my Telus e mailaccount, but for the last few months it hasn't allowed me to do this. I keepgetting messages telling me "too many recipients per hour." After working finefor years, now Telus tech support is telling me that even though nothing haschanged in their system, I can now only send mail to 10 people at a time. SoI'm posting my Imbolc greetings here.
We've just had our first meeting for Vancouver Pagan Pride2012. I'm looking forward to continuing what we started when we took it overlast year and doubling the attendance yet again. The tentative date pendingcity of Surrey approval is 18 August 2012.

Yule Greetings
Dear Friends:
I tried to send out Sabbat greetings as I've been doing foryears using my Telus e mail account, but for the last two months it hasn'tallowed me to do this. I keep getting messages telling me "too many recipientsper hour." After working fine for years, now Telus tech support is telling methat even though nothing has changed in their system, I can now only send mailto 10 people at a time. So I'm posting my Yule greetings here.
We've got a new steel roof going on to replace the old asphaltshingles. The workmen have been up there banging around for a week now.
My old friend and fellow author Dr. Shelley Rabinovitch, whoteaches at the university of Ottawa, was here for our Yule ritual last night.Actually there were two Yules: One was a relatively standard Yule whichincluded a Wiccaning for the many children that arrived in the lives of knightsof the Order this past year, and the other was a ritual focussing on theMicrocosm: Awakening the Light Within. I've just released a new book of self empowerment: How To Be Glorious: Day By Day Empowerment . This book is thenext step in the the cycle begun with my earlier Llewellyn books on Warriorphilosophy, Wiccan Warrior, Full Contact Magick, Magickal Self Defense, and Modern Knighthood. The tremendousinterest in the daily affirmations that I post on Twitter, Facebook, Google+,got me thinking about a book for the general public on self empowerment andpersonal power and How to be Gloriousis the result. It's about taking charge of your life instead of letting yourlife take charge of you. It's available as an e book from Smashwords and as aprint on demand book from Amazon.com.
My new book Modern Knighthood: Unleashing Your Inner Power to Master Yourself andthe World has been out on Smashwords.com since December as an e book,but now it is out as a print on demand book at Amazon.com.
The other book, which is published under my mundane name,Charles Ennis, is AncientRecipes for Modern Kitchens. This is a collection of ancient recipesadapted for the modern kitchen, organized into the 8 Sabbat seasons and presentedwith a brief description of their history. Just a reminder to anyone interested in studying with us inthe Order of Scáthach: We've changed our mentoring system so people who want tostudy with us can check out our mentors on line at our training blog and chooseone to work with. We're also doing Skype conference calls twice monthly for ouron line students to improve their learning experience: I'll be hosting onesession and Lady Devenir will be hosting the other. Of course, if you're livinghere in British Columbia or in one of the other locations that we havepreceptories, you can train with us face to face. The Preceptories in the LowerMainland include:
· Surrey Motherhouse
· Tri Cities Preceptory
· Bifrost Preceptory
We've been taping lessons to put on the training blog andthis led us to create our own YouTube channel. Unitarian Services and Interfaith Councils
On November 6 the Order of Scathach conducted the service for the South Fraser Unitarian Congregation in Surrey. It was very well received. We were subsequently invited to participate in the formation of a Surrey Interfaith Council at a meeting at the Surrey Central Library on November 16. I attended with Lady Janus and it was a very productive meeting.
