International Day Against Homophobia

In 76 countries in the world homosexuality is still illegal. Five countries punish homosexuality with the death penalty. Even here, in our 'enlightened' country, most gay men and women still can't marry the person they love. In honor of International Day Against Homophobia, I wanted to post this gorgeous picture, and encourage you to check out the Fearless exhibit by Jeff Sheng.  Click here or here.

Just yesterday, I was doing research for a new story, and read this article from the October...

The Letter Z is now available!

When Scarlett and I realized our release dates were only a week apart, we started brainstorming all the ways we could celebrate.  What we came up with was interviews.  Not author interviews – who wants to read about us? – but character interviews!

So, when Long Time Coming was released last Wednesday, Scarlett sent her character Leo my way.  Or, I should say, Cole's way.  Except that Leo doesn't really go Cole's way, if you know what I mean.  But Cole isn't one to be easily discouraged...

Three things: A guest post by Angelo

Yeah, I know you all want Cole.  But he's not here, and I am.  So I guess you're stuck with me.  Marie says that with The Letter Z bein' released only four days from now, I gotta make myself more visible. What the fuck ever.  She at least took pity on me and gave me a nice little list of shit I'm s'posed to tell you.

First: Congratulations to Marie's good friend Ethan Stone. Haven't heard of Ethan?  That's 'cause he's not published yet. But just last week, Dreamspinner Press accepted a short s...

SfD and a guest interview...

First, Strawberries for Dessert has been accepted by Dreamspinner Press and will be released this summer (probably July).

Second, if you're up for a laugh, check out Cole's interview of Scarlett Parrish's protag Leo on my website. My husband says it isn't really THAT funny. Maybe Scarlett and I are just easily amused? I'll let you decide. :-)

Long Time Coming release party!

As of today, our good friend Scarlett Parrish is officially a published novelist! Her novel, Long Time Coming (and honey, she assures me that is a euphemism) is now available from Carnal Passions. Despite the fact that Scarlett has done the unthinkable and written a naughty book containing a woman, we're terribly excited for her and wanted to see what we could do to help promote her book.  I thought certainly she and Marie would take care of it on their own, but then Marie told me I'd be...

Newest updates:

The Letter Z will be released on May 12! This is a sequel to A to Z, and because it is only a novella, it will not be available in paperback. See it on Dreamspinner's site here, or you can find some details here.

Also, Strawberries for Dessert is finished. You can read Cole's latest blog post here (although he wrote it yesterday, before we knew about TLZ).

In other news, we're trying to get our house ready to go on the market in about three weeks, and I'm freaking out! Then I'll be heading off to the Caribbean for a seven-night cruise and writer's workshop with Lynn Flewelling. And shortly after that, I'll be hosting a Dreamspinner Press booth at the Des Moines Pride Festival with Heidi Cullinan the weekend of June 12. Hope to see you there!

First draft is finished!

The first draft of Strawberries for Dessert (featuring Jon and Cole) is complete. It came in at just under 70K words. Phew! Now begins the editing, beta-reading, re-writing, more editing, etc. Still, it's a huge step, and I'm excited. I'll let you all know when it's really finished. In the meantime, I've been ignoring all of the mundane household junk while obsessing on my book. I have mountains of laundry to do. Seriously: mountains. Blech.
