If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title of the book should be? Why?
The title should be ‘Batsh*t Crazy’ (laughs) I’m a writer. I make up imaginary characters and then torture them before I give them their happy endings. If that isn’t crazy, I don’t know what is!

A Year Of Sizzling Hot Sax – Sinful Rewards 2 Read Along

Pretty Bikes
Hawke rides a customized chopper. Bee makes the mistake of calling his bike pretty in Sinful Rewards 2.

“Pretty?” He scowls, appearing deeply offended, lines grooved around his mouth. “Paintings are pretty. You’re pretty.”
He thinks I’m pretty. My soul fills with happiness.
“Bikes aren’t pretty, sweetheart. They’re powerful machines.” Hawke turns the key in the ignition, clutches the throttle and revs the engine, the sound vibrating through my chest. “One thousand CCs, like having a beast between your legs,” he shouts, quieting the machine once more.

One of the many things I love about Hawke is he’s big and he’s bad and he doesn’t feel the need to prove himself to anyone. He rides a ‘pretty’ bike, not caring if other men (or women) think less of him for doing so. In my opinion, this makes him even more of a bada$$ than if he had ridden the classic black Harley.
How To Train A Billionaire
Nicolas and Bee got off to a rocky start in Sinful Rewards 1. Their first meeting didn’t progress as she’d fantasized.
This scene indicates there might be hope for their relationship.

Nicolas is a successful, driven man. When Bee suggests he introduce himself when he calls and not assume everyone recognizes his voice/number, he implements this suggestion immediately.

Shark Week At The Shedd
Sinful Rewards is set in Chicago, a city I absolutely love. One of the fun things about this story are the references to the local attractions and buildings.
When I wrote Sinful Rewards 2, I had NO idea when the story would be releasing. It could have released in May, December, April. I didn’t know.
So I was THRILLED when I found out it would be releasing tomorrow, right in the middle of shark week at the Shedd (Chicago’s aquarium and a beloved landmark).
Why? Because this scene in Sinful Rewards refers to this awesome event!

The bus arrives six minutes late. It’s crammed full of people. Painted faces are pressed against the steamed-up windows. I spot dorsal fin hats and giant foam fish, which can mean only one thing—it’s Shark Week at the Shedd.
The driver opens the door, looks at me, glances behind him at the masses of bodies wedged into the space. “You’re small. You might fit.” He flicks his fingers, ushering me onto the vehicle.
John Shedd Aquarium Dome
“Thank you.” I’m average size but I don’t argue. I pay my fare and slide between a broad woman proudly wearing an I Heart Hammerheads T-shirt and a bearded man in a suit. My hand sticks out of the suffocating human sandwich, my purse hanging over the fare box.
The bus jerks forward. I slam against the corporate lumberjack, my breasts smacking against his chest. “Sorry.” I widen my stance, better bracing myself, embarrassed by the contact.
He grunts, his response swallowed by his beard. Moisture beads on his forehead. His suit jacket smells like wet wool.
I stare at his lapels, trying to act as though I’m not pressed against him, as though I’m not sharing an intimate embrace with a stranger, our thighs, hips, chests touching. The floor vibrates under my shoes. I don’t know how fast we are moving, as I can’t see outside, my view blocked by bodies, my fellow passengers much taller than I am.
John Shedd Aquarium From The Front
A lady grumbles loudly about great whites giving other sharks a bad name. “Everyone knows the great white is the only shark worth talking about,” a man snaps.
Passengers gasp, their reactions encouraging the combatants. The verbally dueling duo exchange increasingly shrill insults, drawing oohs and aahs from the shark-savvy crowd. I wince, my eardrums ringing. Shark fans make Black Friday shoppers appear civilized, and these adversaries are locked in a to-the-death standoff, their hostility spiraling my anxiety skyward.
The man finally calls her a seal lover, the ultimate insult. The woman shrieks. Foam slaps against foam. Bodies sway. The bus stops, and everyone groans.
“Is this an incident?” the driver asks. “Do I have to notify dispatch?”

Interview With Heather Kirchhoff
I sat down (virtually) with Heather Kirchhoff for a short interview. Heather Kirchhoff’s latest release is Daybreak, an paranormal.
Cynthia Sax: What excites you about Daybreak?
Heather Kirchhoff: Everything. I just love sitting down to write the story because even I don’t always know what’s going to happen. That thrills me.
Cynthia Sax: How does Daybreak start?
Heather Kirchhoff: Daybreak starts at Meagan learning more useful magic. I did this because of how Dusk ended (not going to reveal anything) but she needs to learn more then what Meagan knows already like potions. It also has her thinking of someone she truly cares about but has to pretend she doesn’t for the sake of her secret. It’s a lose-lose situation but Meagan has to learn how to deal with it. I did that because I felt like it was a good place to start and I wanted to jump into her learning more magic.
Cynthia Sax: Where is Daybreak set?
Heather Kirchhoff: I set my Magic series in Santa Monica, California because I’ve wanted to go there for awhile and I thought it’d be the perfect place to hide Meagan away at. I think it’s exciting because it’s a big city and Meagan has never lived in one before; she’s always lived in a village up until she was five then in isolation. I think it’s a different experience for her (much different).
Cynthia Sax: Does a character in Daybreak have a secret?
Heather Kirchhoff:Yes. Meagan (the main character) is the Powerful One. She’s a very powerful witch, the most powerful of her kind, and has to hide away. She’s lived in isolation since she was five (other magic users want to capture her) until now at the age of seventeen, where she was forced to live in a big city. It’s out of her comfort zone but she has no choice.
Cynthia Sax: Is Daybreak a series and will you be writing more stories in this series?
Heather Kirchhoff:Yes. I’m not sure if there will be four or five books but they’re planned out for now. Of course, I always get surprises. The next book will be published December of this year and the other two will be before May 2015.

The Power Of Fantasy
Bee, the heroine of Sinful Rewards, indulges in quite a bit of fantasy in the first story. She thinks about both Nicolas and Hawke, imagining what sex with them would be like, what they might be thinking about or doing while they’re watching her, the possibilities a relationship with either of these two men might have.
As Bee hasn’t yet had sex with either man, her fantasies show us more about her than they show us about Nicolas or Hawke. While, in reality, Bee acts prim and proper, her erotic imaginings are far from prissy. They reveal her wants and needs. In her dreams, she’s wild and confident and always accepted, always wanted. This is her inner self speaking, her view of a ‘perfect’ world.
Part of the fun for me as a writer and a reader is seeing how her reality compares with her fantasies, both in this first story and in the final story. Will her relationship with the man she chooses match her fantasies or will it be different? How is it different? Is her reality better, more than she could imagine?
I also believe that these fantasies allow Bee to slow down her physical relationships. She feels a rush of attraction for both men when she first meets them. Her sexy thoughts allow her to release some of this passion without unraveling her good girl image. She thinks about jumping them but doesn’t take action.
Fantasies played a huge role in my relationship with my destined-to-be hubby. We lived in different cities for almost an entire year when our relationship began. I would replay our first kisses, our first touches again and again, adding my imaginings to these memories. IMHO creative people are never truly lonely. We close our eyes and we’re with loved ones or our favorite romance heroes.
