Advice… Maybe Not
By Robin WeaverIn my head, this month’s theme was Advice on Relationships. The actual theme is Tips on Relationships. Which is a really good thing, since nobody really wants advice. Nor does anyone actually need advice (even fromNora Roberts or Michael Connelly). Adviceis preachy. Advice is controlling. What we need is factual, relevant information so we canmake our own decisions.See what

Winter in the Butte wetlands Sutter County California
by Diana McCollumToday my husband and I took a drive to the Butte wetlands. This is on the super migratory highway for water fowl. There is a park where you can take a slow meandering drive through the wetlands on dikes. You are not allowed to get out of your car or make loud noises or feed the water fowl. We saw Canadian Geese, Snow Geese, Swans, Hawks and all kinds of ducks. No hunting allowed

Some things stick in your mind forever...like good advice
I say this to a lot of people: I don't like to give advice because I don't like to get it.Snarky, but true. That statement is true 99.99% of the time for me. Basically, most of the knowledge people have tried to impart to me over the years has been unsolicited. I don't think anyone likes that kind of advice. Or maybe I'm just different. LOL.There is one piece of advice that I received right

We suffer from SeasonalAffective Disorder, or the milder version, “Winter Blues”. The lack of sunlightin the winter months triggers sadness, fatigue, sleepiness, lack of motivation, and depression. The

The Promise of a New Year
Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of sci-fi and supernatural stories with a romantic soul. And I do not make New Year resolutions. I've never really understood the whole making new rules for yourself on the turning of a day which most people inevitably break in the first week. But this year I did make some promises to myself. To spend a few extra minutes each day on self care, be it a bit longer

To Make Resolutions or Goals or Knot?
by Diana McCollum Each year up to now I’ve made resolutions. I’ve written them down, reviewed them weekly and by the end of February most have gone by the wayside. This year I’ve made up a motto which is tacked to my bulletin board by my desk. “Try something new monthly, work on goal list weekly, smile and be happy”. My goals list is for writing and personal goals. Those lists are also on my
