Stephanie Plum - Takedown Twenty

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich is another fine example of romantic suspense. I'm really enjoying "Takedown Twenty" (I'm reading out of order, having already finished "Top Secret Twenty-One", but it doesn't matter in this case).

Here's the blurb:

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum knows better than to mess with family. But when powerful mobster Salvatore “Uncle Sunny” Sunucchi goes on the lam in Trenton, it’s up to Stephanie to find him. Uncle Sunny is charged with murder for running over a guy (twice), and nobody wants to turn him in—not his poker buddies, not his bimbo girlfriend, not his two right-hand men, Shorty and Moe. Even Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, has skin in the game, because—just Stephanie’s luck—the godfather is his actual godfather. And while Morelli understands that the law is the law, his old-world grandmother, Bella, is doing everything she can to throw Stephanie off the trail.

It’s not just Uncle Sunny giving Stephanie the run-around. Security specialist Ranger needs her help to solve the bizarre death of a top client’s mother, a woman who happened to play bingo with Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur. Before Stephanie knows it, she’s working side by side with Ranger and Grandma at the senior center, trying to catch a killer on the loose—and the bingo balls are not rolling in their favor.

With bullet holes in her car, henchmen on her tail, and a giraffe named Kevin running wild in the streets of Trenton, Stephanie will have to up her game for the ultimate takedown.

––The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

“I never loved you any more than I do, right this second. And I’ll never love you any less than I do, right this second.”

Is OPERATION GENOCIDE a Romantic Suspense novel?

Is OPERATION GENOCIDE a Romantic Suspense novel? In a word: yes. There's definitely a strong romantic subplot. But it's also a thriller and a who-dun-it.

A new deadly virus developed in a secret lab founded by the government....
A murdered scientist....
An ex-boyfriend investigating the crime....

Go on. You know you want to read it. Click here.

If you love suspense, you'll quickly find yourself wrapped up in this book.  A. Brantley This book is a keeper, a story which I could not put down. JaneB The story has a few excellent twists before providing a truly satisfying, and surprising, conclusion.  ” N Bishop

The most romantic proposals

Get her favourite magazine to run an article featuring you proposing to her.Hang the ring box like an ornament on the Christmas tree. Play a trivia game together. During the game, say "Your question is: Will you marry me?" rather than the question written on the card. Sing it to her. Do it like this man, dubbed by the media "the most romantic guy in London".
