So What Am I Up to This April?
I just got done with a very rough draft of Mark Pryce's and Hilary Rosenberg’' (Gavin Lloyd's executive administrative assistant -- if I call her a "secretary" Mark's going to get mad lol) story. So while it's marinating, I'm treating myself to two days of taxes (fun!) and another day or two of reading.
(In case you're wondering what I'm planning to read, I downloaded a copy of Alphas After Dark.)
After a careful read-through, Mark & Hilary's story is going to be self-revised, then it's off to my editor. While she's working on the story, I'll be working on Meredith Lloyd's story, where I plan to reveal the whole secret / mystery surrounding her son Eric's paternity, plus pair her up with the super-sexy brother of her best friend. Oh and I'll have Forever in Love (Blaine Davis and Catherine Fairchild's story) proofread and formatted. I'm aiming to have it released on May 12. Several fans have asked me if they'll ever find out who's behind the embezzlement at The Lloyds Development. All that is answered in Forever in Love, I promise.

Ask Nadia: Do You Allow Your Family to Read Your Stories Before You Send Them Out to Be Published?
This is a new feature I'm trying out. When I get questions -- about anything -- I'm going to try to answer them on Wednesday.
So here's the second one for the feature from a lovely fan:
Do you allow your family to read your stories before you send them out to be published?
Actually my husband (who is dubbed Hero Material) line edits, so yes.
But my parents and sibling do not read my stories. So thankfully I can write whatever I want (sex and/or violence) without worrying about what my mom or dad's going to think.
I think Mom wants to read my books -- she always asks me for a copy. But with her being an immigrant, it's not easy for her to read full-length novels written for adults. I have shorter works, but they're paranormal. Unfortunately, those are even more difficult for non-native speakers due to all the made-up words.

Ask Nadia: When Did You Start Writing?
This is a new feature I'm trying out. When I get questions -- about anything -- I'm going to try to answer them on Wednesday.
So here's the first one for the feature from a lovely fan:
When did you start writing?
I started writing when I was in elementary school. But back then I only wrote bad poems about goldfish. Don't ask me why goldfish. I've never owned a fish in my life.
When I was in junior high school, I wrote really really bad emo-angst drivel. I thought they were brilliant at the time, but looking back on it now, it's obvious I was delusional. There was no conflict whatsoever...just two really rich and beautiful boys and a girl -- yes a love triangle! 
-- angsting for 100+ pages then the story ended when the girl died of some horrible disease like consumption. And I wrote the same story over and over again with different character names and settings.
It wasn't until I was twenty-five that I decided to write commercially. That's when I started studying craft, points of view, character development and so on. I also studied the market and publishing contracts, and read widely to see which genre I liked the best and wanted to write in. I started writing contemporary romance, then deviated to urban fantasy and other things, then came back to contemporary romance. No, I don't ever plan to write more poems about goldfish.

Support Jackie Barbosa & Memorial Fund
Last week, Jackie Barbosa, one of the sweetest and most generous writers I know lost her seventeen year-old son in a terrible car accident. I'll never understand the depth of her and her family's pain, but as a mother myself, I grieve for her loss.

Booked!
I finally managed to book our vacation to Thailand in February 2015. I know, I know, it's eleven months out. We thought about going this year, but our schedules didn't work out. I really need something like this to look forward to, since I've been feeling slightly burned out recently.
I also confirmed every detail with the hotel to make sure our stay will be comfortable and there won't be any surprises. (Some hotels can be a bit…fickle… coughcoughWestinChosuncoughcough.)
The below is the hotel we're going to stay at. Hero Material and I stayed there in 2010 for our honeymoon, and we loved it. (Which is why I was inspired to set Gavin and Amandine's second honeymoon in Thailand in Redemption in Love...) We're not going to Chiang Mai since The Boy's still too young for tigers and elephants and the like.
So now I'm totally dreaming of next February. LOL.

Gratuitous V-Day Dinner Food Shots
You know me and food! Hero Material bought me roses, and then afterward, we went out for some really good French food and the most decadent chocolate dessert for dinner.
The candle looks super authentic, but it's actually fake.
Macadamia nuts actually, not balls of chocolate.
The best duck I've even had. I don't generally eat poultry skin, but I ate it off this one. Yum yum!
Dessert... A big solid block of pure chocolate with sauce and chopped strawberries. Just divine.
