Hi! It’s Teaser Tuesday, the very first one for HIDDEN DEEP. With less than a month to go before release day, I thought it’d be fun to “illustrate” the first two lines of the book. So here goes….

Cover reveal– HIDDEN DEEP

I’m so excited to share the cover of HIDDEN DEEP with you today. I’ve been dying to share it for a couple of months now, and finally THE DAY IS HERE!!!! This novel was my 2013 Golden Heart finalist book and a real passion project for me. I just love this story deeply, and the characters are so real to me and close to my heart.

HIDDEN DEEP is a Young Adult fantasy/paranormal romance and book 1 in a new trilogy. It’s slated to release on March 23, 2015.

Here’s a little insider info on the story:

Sixteen-year-old Ryann Carroll has just run into the guy who saved her life ten years ago. You might think she’d be happy to see him again. Not exactly. She’s a bit underdressed (as in skinny-dipping) and he’s not supposed to exist. After her father’s affair, all Ryann wants is to escape the family implosion fallout and find a little peace. She also wouldn’t mind a first date that didn’t suck, but she’s determined not to end up like her mom: vulnerable, betrayed, destroyed. Ryann’s recently moved back to her childhood home in rural Mississippi, the same place where ten years earlier she became lost in the woods overnight and nearly died. She’s still irresistibly drawn to those woods. There she encounters the boy who kept her from freezing to death that long ago winter night and was nowhere to be seen when rescuers arrived. He’s still mysterious, but now all grown-up and gorgeous, too. And the more she’s with him, the greater the threat he poses to Ryann’s strict policy– never want someone more than he wants you.

Seventeen-year-old Lad knows the law of his people all too well: Don’t get careless and Don’t get caught. It’s allowed his race to live undetected in this world for thousands of years, mentioned only in flawed and fading folklore… Lad’s never been able to forget about Ryann since that night ten years ago. When he sees her again, his fascination re-ignites and becomes a growing desire that tempts him to break all the rules. He’s not even supposed to talk to a human, much less fall in love with one. And the timing is atrocious. The Assemblage is coming, the rift between the Light and Dark is widening, and mysterious celebrity fan pods are becoming more and more widespread and influential. Lad may have to trade his own chance at happiness to keep the humans, especially Ryann, blissfully unaware and safe.

Something a little different…

I spent 2014 writing and publishing the 20 Something series, and there’s still (at least) one more book to come, STILL WAITING. But it’s going to have to wait a little while longer.

Because my next novel out for publication is the first book in a different series, and not only that, it’s in a different genre!

HIDDEN DEEP is a YA Fantasy/Paranormal romance and the first book in a trilogy. I actually wrote it before writing the 20 Something books, but I put it aside to work on them, and late last year picked it up again and began the editing process with it.

I truly love this book. It was the one that made me a Golden Heart finalist in 2013, and it’s set in a fictional version of my little Mississippi hometown. But that’s where the ties to reality end.

I’m so excited to wish my friend Chris Cannon a happy book birthday and tell you about her newest YA novel,  Bridges Burned (Going Down in Flames #2) releasing today!

STILL BEAUTIFUL– 20 Something Book 4!

Here she is… STILL BEAUTIFUL is Cinda’s story. Sent it off to my editor today and it should be available soon. Are you ready to Fall in Love Like a 20 Something again? Here’s a little sneak peek:

20 year old double-engineering major Cinda Moran is the smart one. Her older sister Kenley… is the pretty one. Their nightmare match-making mom has always made their roles pretty clear, and it’s no mystery which daughter she prefers. So while Kenley played the passive dress-up doll, Cinda did the opposite, refusing any attempts to prettify her and make her into “billionaire bait”. Instead, she’s fiercely focused on academics and her internship at an Atlanta TV station.
