Here’s the first teaser trailer for THE WALK.  Robert...

Here’s the first teaser trailer for THE WALK.  Robert Zemeckis directed this movie.  His resume includes Back To The Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Flight, and a ton of other ones I love.  (Death Becomes Her).  His movies are always visually spectacular, but he also gives you what a lot of other eye-candy movies often don’t — a story about characters you can sincerely care about.  I loved every minute of working for him, and I expected this movie to come together well because of him.  But I gotta say, even I’m pretty astonished at how good these shots of 1974 NYC and the World Trade Center towers look.  Movie’s coming out next October, so this definitely won’t be the last time you hear me talk about it, but I’m really excited to show you guys this first look…

MUSICIANS: Grab a partner and play along to THIS SONG. Here are step-by-step instructions for this request:

Download THIS REFERENCE TRACK of the song.
Write a part on your instrument of choice that can be played by two people at the same time. Perhaps it’s a harmonized part where you play one melody and your friend plays another melody? Or maybe one does a rhythm part while another takes more of a lead. Up to you.
Whatever instrument you choose, we’d like the musical categories to be in the same family. Here’s some instrument types we’d still love to get:

          - Guitar duos

          - Synth duos
          - Piano
          - Brass duos
          - Two singers singing wordless parts (‘ahhs’, ‘oohs’, ‘bops’ etc)
          - Electronic duos (drum pads, beats, etc)
          - Turntables

When you and your friend have learned your parts, set up a camera in a setting of your choice. The idea is that you’ll be able to film yourself playing one part on one side of the screen, while your friend plays the other part on the other side of the screen, but you’d be doing this separately.
During the editing process, our team will splice the two parts together so that they make one part.
When you’re filming each part, we’d like to have good quality audio, and not just audio from your camera. Try to hook up a protools session to record your part, and do the same for your friend’s part. This way, we’ll have the ability to cut together a great audio track of the song, and we’ll also have the video footage to work with.
Upload your audio tracks and video tracks separately. Our editors will take care of the rest!
