To Win Her Favor has released!

Morning, friends! To Win Her Favor has released, and I'm already hearing from you saying it's loaded onto your Kindles ready to read, or you got a notice that the book is on its way.
Whenever a new book of mine releases and you begin to read, it's like you've invited my BFFs over for dinner—and I so hope you enjoy each other's company. Cullen and Maggie, Uncle Bob, Ennis, Kizzy, Onnie, General Harding and the many other characters who populate this novel have filled my heart for over two years now.
I'd love to hear from you as you read!

More about To Win Her Favor (that's still $4.99 ebook on some vendors as long as it lasts??)

Dallas Area Book Signing SAT, May 16

Attention Dallas area readers!

Fourteen of my writing buddies and I are comin' your way this weekend!

CLICK for more info on the book signing

A slew of Inspirational (Inspy) authors are headed to the Romantic Times Convention in Dallas this week. What is the RT Convention, you ask? The RT Convention is a massive conference dedicated to romance readers of all genres.
It's largely a secular conference, meaning that the majority of authors in attendance write secular romance in all genres, including new adult and erotica. I'm already hearing the question forming in some of your minds… Why are Inspy authors attending a secular conference? Quite simply, because romance readers who read and enjoy secular writers (as I do) also read and love inspirational writers. And we love them, in return. Spending time with readers is always a blast!
This is the third year Inspy authors have attended and, honey, this year we're coming en masse! Over thirty authors will be involved in the convention this week, with fifteen of us staying for the Giant Book Fair on Saturday. And when I say Giant, I really mean GIANT!
There will be about 500 authors involved in the signing. But never fear on whether you'll be able to find the Inspy authors you want to see. We'll all be seated together in Inspirational Fiction Way. Plus a very handsome young man in a tux will be working the crowd, passing out special bookmarks made just for the event along with kisses (the chocolate kind, calm down ladies!) and pointing the way to where you can find us.
If you live in Dallas, I hope you'll consider grabbing some girlfriends and coming to see us at the Hyatt Regency Dallas on Reunion Blvd. (see link below for directions). We'll have lots of chocolate, bookplates we'll happily autograph for you, bookmarks, postcards, recipes, and of course...hugs and lots of fun and laughter.
Questions?
Hope to see you there!
~Tamera

CHRISTIAN FICTION SCAVENGER HUNT: Stop #3 (Pink Team)

Welcome to the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt! I am part of Team PINK and this is Stop #3.

If you’re just joining us, there are two loops—purple and pink—and they begin at Lisa Bergren’s site and Robin Hatcher’s site for stop #1 for either stream. If you complete either the pink loop or purple loop, you can enter for a Kindle Paperwhite and the 17 autographed books from that loop. If you complete BOTH loops, you can enter for the Grand Prize of a Kindle Fire HDX and ALL 34 autographed books.
BE SURE to keep track of the clues at the bottom of every post in the loop and the favorite number mentioned. You’ll need those clues to enter for the loop prize and every number mentioned in order to enter for the grand prize.
ALSO, please don’t use Internet Explorer to navigate through the loops. Some web sites won’t show up using IE. Please use Chrome or Firefox—they’re better anyway!
Without further ado, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to my guest for the Scavenger Hunt, Stephanie Grace Whitson. Steph is not only a very gifted writer, she's also a dear friend. You're gonna love her post!
Stephanie Grace Whitson

Now the official bio:
Best-selling, award-winning novelist Stephanie Grace Whitson wrote her first bit of historical fiction in the 1990s while home schooling her four children and learning the true stories of the pioneer women of the West.
She enjoys giving programs on a variety of historical and inspirational topics for civic organizations and church groups, quilting, learning about the women of the past, and riding her motorcycle named Kitty.
Learn more at her website and blog

Here's the summary of her latest book:
Daughter of the Regiment by
Stephanie Grace WhitsonIrish immigrant Maggie Malone wants no part of the war. She'd rather let "the Americans" settle their differences—until her brothers join Missouri's Union Irish Brigade, and one of their names appears on a list of injured soldiers.
Desperate for news, Maggie heads for Boonville, where the Federal army is camped. There she captures the attention of Sergeant John Coulter. When circumstances force Maggie to remain with the brigade, she discovers how capable she is of helping the men she comes to think of as "her boys." And while she doesn't see herself as someone a man would court, John Coulter is determined to convince her otherwise.
As the mistress of her brother's Missouri plantation, Elizabeth Blair has learned to play her part as the perfect hostess—and not to question her brother Walker's business affairs. When Walker helps organize the Wildwood Guard for the Confederacy, and offers his plantation as the Center of Operations, Libbie must gracefully manage a house with officers in residence and soldiers camped on the lawn. As the war draws ever closer to her doorstep, she must find a way to protect the people who depend on her.
Despite being neighbors, Maggie and Libbie have led such different lives that they barely know one another—until war bring them together, and each woman discovers that both friendship and love can come from the unlikeliest of places.

And now here is Stephanie's EXCLUSIVE content you'll find only on this hunt!
Lovers of historical fiction tend to share a fascination with historic costume. We spend time on Pinterest oohing and aahing over the gorgeous creations housed in costume collections around the world. Some of us even attend Civil War reenactments and Jane Austen balls in costumes we’ve made. While we do love our “women in costume,” I suspect we’ve secretly thankful we aren’t expected to lace up a corset and step into five petticoats every morning!
A great deal of thought and planning goes into cover design for any novel, and when a publisher takes extra care with selection and planning, it makes a writer’s heart sing. Sometimes publishers have access to theatrical costume warehouses. That gives them a wide range of options for a cover shoot. In the case of Daughter of the Regiment, FaithWords went the extra mile. They hired a designer to make a uniform inspired by an authentic Civil War vivandière costume housed in the National Museum of American History.

Vivandières were women who served the French army during the Crimean War. Their service inspired Daughters of the Regiment in the American Civil War.

That’s Maggie Malone on the cover of Daughter of the Regiment. Maggie is a 6-foot-tall Irish immigrant who farms alongside her two brothers and her uncle. When the Civil War breaks out, she has very little interest in a conflict “the Americans” should solve. But when Maggie’s two brothers volunteer with the Irish Brigade, and when one of their names shows up on a list of wounded soldiers, war becomes personal.

Worried about her brother, Maggie travels to where the Irish Brigade is encamped. Eventually, she begins to think of the soldiers as “her boys.” As the story unfolds, Maggie grows and changes, until she realizes that she doesn’t want to leave the regiment. In the end, Maggie follows in the footsteps of 19th century women like Kady Brownell of Rhode Island and Annie Etheridge of Michigan.
Historic photographs of women who served as Daughters of the Regiment show various versions of uniforms. Soldiers who wrote about regimental“daughters” mention caps decorated with feathers, bloomers, and all manner of braid. Inspired by the Smithsonian’s vivandiere’s costume, designer Linda Coulter first sketched the design shown below.

Once FaithWords gave approval, she created this exquisite uniform of soft blue wool, complete with authentic Civil War era reproduction buttons and lace. The jacket is fully lined and boned.

Maggie Malone would have been proud to wear it, and I’ve been excited to share it with readers who attend launch events this spring. If I could wear it, I would … but alas, it’s a size 0, and I am not.
I hope you’ve enjoyed learning “the inside story” of this cover shoot. You can see more historic background on my Pinterest Board: Daughter of the Regiment.
