I see Pinstripes
You've possibly already seen my link via twitter, but Strange Men has notched another review in its starched pants. This one is by Joshua Reynolds. I think I yelped when Google sent me an email link to the review and I possibly didn't breath until I'd read every single word. As I said last week on Simon Marshall Jones' blog, 'Reviews are scary.' They're also kind of awesome. Many thanks to Joshua for such a delightful review.

I See 'Blank Space People'
I'm sitting crosslegged at the crossroads. Behind me, Fred lies spattered on the highway, his middle grade guts dangling from a tree in the surrounding woods. We tried, Fred and I, but we've spent the past couple of weeks boring each other and getting nothing done at all. So we're parting ways...Perhaps...Probably. Gosh but it's hard to let go.

We're not in Nevada (or Ohio) anymore

I'm so jealous of everyone who'll be meeting up at Context and Killercon, which I believe are both taking place later this week. If I'm right and they are on at the same time, then quite frankly that seems bonkers. I think the organisers of both need to get together and set up shop somewhere inbetween, like say Kansas. Because Kansas has good people. ;)
For a millisecond (okay, maybe slightly longer) this weekend I considered going to one of the above cons next year especially if the pretty pe...

Memorial Fund
For those outside the US (like myself) interested in how to donate to the memorial fund set up by Jamie & Ann Eyberg's family for their children, Aaron Polson (editor of Strange Publications) has offered to forward the money for you. Check out his blog, the link is below.
Aaron Polson: Casting a Wide Memorial Net
Many thanks to Aaron for doing this as I (and I'm sure many others outside the US) felt at a loss as to how we could contribute.
It always seems kind of flippant when I say I love my...

"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds"
An idea is buzz-buzzing around my brain.
Plugs ears to cries of, 'You don't say.'
And of course, having the beginnings of one short and the possible beginnings of another, my delightful brain decided, 'Ooh, we could make a pretty world out of these stories and write lots and lots of stories in them.'
"Like the world you were going to construct from a couple of months ago?" Reason asked, cocking her eyebrow (a feat the writer can't actually perform - perhaps I should over pluck one eyebrow to gi...

Post Number Two
Two blog posts in one day...The girl isn't right.
First off, there's a new competition over at the Strange Men site. You can win something by a certain Nate Lambert, because Mr Lambert is a very strange man (actually, he's possibly the strangest) and he may have something to do with Strange Men in particular. Okay, that sounds wrong.
Secondly, if you'd like to win an arc of A S King's 'Please Ignore Vera Dietz' (it's on my to buy list), then the author is running a fun little writing comp. Time...

Horror Meme: Stay out of the Playpen
The scary yet fabulous Aaron Polson has tagged me in a horror movie meme.
The rules... Post pictures from horror movies following a theme. I'm sure you'll never guess mine... Well, okay, smarty pants, I knew you would.
I'm supposed to tag five other people, so here goes: Anthony Rapino, Katey Taylor, Corinne Duyvis, Mike Stone and Mercedes Yardley.
Let the Right One In.

Children of the Corn

And is it just me, but...
