I love to write and I resent not having as much time as I want to write the books and screenplays that I have already developed through the planning stage. So plan your book out, like a synopsis of between 300 and 700 words, and then writing will be much easier than you expect.(less)

Consider using the index card method that screenplay writers use to plot out your story. You will find connections between your different story threads that wouldn't come to you otherwise. If that's too complicated, at least write your story as an extended synopsis. I like to make it 300-700 words so I can lay it out on two pages and see the whole thing at one.
The more you plan your story in advance, the easier it will be to write it. Try it once and you'll never going back.(less)
