NANOWRIMO 2022
by Carolyn Wooddall, iPub’s Social Media Manager
I first participated in NaNoWriMo in 2006. I had just graduated from college in June and was excited to be free of my studies and never-ending class papers so that I could focus on my own writing for a change. Although I consider myself to be a very self-motivated and driven individual, without the looming deadlines imposed by my professors, I found it difficult for me to make progress on my first young adult novel. So when I found NaNoWriMo, I knew I was hooked!
For those of you who may not know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It was started in July of 1999 by Chris Baty and about 20 other people in the San Francisco Bay Area who “wanted to write novels for the same dumb reasons twenty-somethings start bands.” According to…

Rabbi James Rudin to Become a Papal Knight

It is a rare occurrence for an American rabbi to be honored with the Papal Knighthood of St. Gregory the Great. On Sunday, November 20th, Rabbi Rudin will join those respected ranks.
The Order of St Gregory is bestowed for conspicuous lay service to the Church on the recommendation of a diocesan bishop with the support of the papal nuncio. Pope Francis will recognize Rabbi A. James Rudin, Senior Interreligious Advisor of the American Jewish Committee, Distinguished Professor of Religion and Judaica at Saint Leo University, and co-founder of the University’s Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies, with a Papal Knighthood for his decades of work in building positive Catholic-Jewish relations throughout the world.

Mario Cuomo and the Fight for Patients’ Rights
by James Rudin
My eighteen Task Force years of service revealed that making realistic and sensible medical decisions is rapidly becoming the single most important aspect of a clergyperson’s life. Those decisions are the most difficult and painful questions rabbis, priests, pastors, or imams face at the bedside of a dying individual.

And what a surprise! It’s not abstract theological or metaphysical queries. Rather, most questions, usually asked in a hospital room, go like this. “My beloved family member is gravely ill. The doctors are recommending some extraordinary and complex medical treatments. I am confused, and I am being asked to make a decision. As my spiritual leader, please tell me, what should I do?”
My years on the Task Force provided a unique vantage point to witness the rapid…

Find it at Amazon now. http://www.amazon.com/Pestilence-A-Me.... “A very well-researched book full of facts about that time, how people lived, and the disease itself, yet it tells the story at an exciting pace.” — Larry Green, Death Head Grin Magazine

Dec.7: LL Soares
L.L. Soares and Laura Cooney have an excellent new novella out: GREEN TSUNAMI. A strange green tsunami has crashed down upon the world. Most people didn’t survive, but those who did are grotesquely changed. In fact, everything has changed. Even formerly inanimate objects like cars and houses are now living, breathing creatures. Somehow, the Internet is still working, and Aaron and Joy send emails back and forth in this world gone mad. Aaron’s foot is as big as a small child and throbs with pain if he strays too far from the house. Joy is forced to take care of strange “balloon heads” that communicate telepathically and demand subservience. Their young son Davey has mutated into a carnivorous, caterpillar-like monster that devours other children.
It’s just another day in the world of GREEN TSUNAMI, a novella by Laura Cooney and Bram Stoker-winning author L.L. Soares. http://www.amazon.com/Green-Tsunami-L...
