Raising Student Ministry Bars

Many of the teenagers in our churches aren’t pursuing Christ passionately because we have not expected them to do so. Instead of lowering expectations, we ought to expect sincere followers of Jesus.

All Beliefs Cannot Be True

Students desiring to follow Jesus in college must decide how they will define truth. If you don't know what you believe or why you believe it, forces can successfully alter your worldview based on cultural opinions.

You’re Not Growing Spiritually Because You Aren’t Making Time for It

If you are not regularly creating a margin in your schedule to study the Scriptures, you are not fully developing in Jesus. This culture gives you too many messages all week to have one sermon and one Bible study a week to keep you grounded in the truth.

What the World Missed at the SBC

The 2023 SBC Annual Meeting concluded in New Orleans with much to celebrate and some to consider. Our churches must prioritize figuring out how best to offer hope to the world.

Confronting Bitterness

We are often unable to enjoy God’s gift of relationships now due to disappointments from failed connections in the past. If we are not careful, past letdowns will rob us of present possibilities. We must deal with the pain and not continue to overlook it.

Fight for Your Family

Church leaders equipping committed parents to disciple their children will accomplish much for the Kingdom and keep the next generation secure. In the fight to protect the home, the church leadership can and should provide the right tools to defend the home.

Leading By Example

A position may grant you the right to give orders, but a true leader is one who diligently works alongside others. Your example lived in front of others will be the most remarkable leadership lesson you could ever teach. 

Redemption Precedes Regulations

Exodus 19:1-25 – Before God gave commandments, He reminded the people about what He had already done for them. We don’t do good works to be loved by God, for redemption precedes regulations.

A Prayer for the SBC Annual Meeting

As we approach another annual meeting for the Southern Baptist Convention, we are potentially in for more disagreements and controversies. My contribution is to pray for God's will to be done in God's way, and I hope you can join me.
