Unfinished Business
... Swearing was so wonderfully satisfying. Why take the time to put drearily long, politically correct sentences together when the point could be made in one delicious succinct ‘bollocks!’
... Of course it’s real, you mare, he’s not playing Barbie and Ken, that’s Action Man down there, our very own killing machine.
...They gave her the hostile ‘do you know who we are?’ look, followed by aghast hand-on-hip staring and shaking of heads, as if she had just stolen their first born and worn the same dress. Eyes wide, jaws dropped, they didn’t move.
... ‘If I die I want red roses and a pint of Guinness on my coffin,’ mumbled Seb, his hands over his eyes. ‘I may be a tad thirsty where I’m goin.’ ‘Blue flowers for me… Don’t worry Seb, hell will have wicked bars and clubs, you’ll be fine. What music do you want?’ asked Tara.
…‘there’s an old boy who brings his life-size doll with him, he leaves her in the passenger seat of the car… he would bring her in but she keeps sliding off the bar stool, he doesn’t want people thinkin she’s drunk… She’s very pretty, a bit of a surprised look on her face… nice clothes… her hair needs doing, I did offer, but he took offence… I think he thought I was trying to pull her… honestly, do I look like I ‘do’ women?’ he tutted, hand on aproned hip… ‘Plastic ones at that…honestly,’ Anton huffed…
I am enjoying this dark and twisted series far too much and continue to worry what that says about me. This story has me in knots and I am enthralled and intrigued by this ingeniously crafted, maddeningly paced, unpredictable, action-packed, tautly written, and salacious tale. Laced with betrayals, hidden agendas, secret identities, passionate and sensual love stories, and more scream-worthy twists and turns than a carnival ride.
The writing was nothing less than first-rate and I lived for this wily author’s cunning and clever lashings of wit and titillating humor. S. C. Cunningham is obviously an evil genius with serious word voodoo. Her characters were enigmatic, alluring, deeply flawed, and fascinating. Not one of them was who they seemed or without dark secrets of their own. David must have a magical wang as all his past lovers still find him highly desirable, despite his unsavory crimes, twisted behaviors, murderous intent, and previous attempts to kill them off.
I am now stamping my little foot in a pique over the heinous cliffhanger and totally conflicted in whom to root for as the ending turned everything upside down. I sincerely hope Ms. Cunningham is currently locked in her office while chained to her computer and banging out part three. I have but two words for her – please hurry!

5��� Dark, Sexy, Dangerous, Compulsive Thriller... A MUST READ!
Unfinished Business is the second book in the series and wow what a series. I'm addicted!
It's dark, steamy, manipulative, sexy, dangerous, intimidating psychological thriller and I loved it!
S C Cunningham draws you in as you hold on to her every word. A little flush under the collar and most definitely gets your pulses racing.
It's so shocking that David can be so manipulative, dangerous yet so sexy and controlling all at the same time. That's exactly how he makes Tara feel, even behind prison bars he gets he hot and flustered. She should despise him yet she can't help wanting him between her legs!
If I write about this plot then I will give too much away about the first book and wow was that one good too.
You do get a recap which I really appreciated. But my advice is....this isn't a standalone. Too much happens in the first that picks up where it leaves off. So read The Penance List first.
The sex scenes are pulsating, hot, sexy, steamy, the characters are desperately flawed but I couldn't help liking them, even David and his a manipulative psychopath.
The plot is very dark, compulsive, thrilling, enthralling, edge of your seat page turning.
I can't write down how much I am addicted to this dark sexy thriller. It just keeps getting better and better!
By far my favourite series of 2018!

To get into the ‘zone’ I have to shut myself away and cut off from the world. It can take days of living a mushroom-like existence to get everyday chitter-chatter out of my head, empty my thoughts and create space for the spaghetti-esque storylines I’m trying to keep one step ahead of.
My books tend to have complex characters with three or four subplots, which is a lot for this dumb old blonde to control without losing the reader or the natural flow of the story. It can be hair-pullingly frustrating, so I’m afraid I do tend to swear a lot. Thankfully only the dogs at my feet can hear me.
When writing is in full swing I no longer care about my health or appearance. Diets go out the window and I don’t bother washing or cooking. My job is to entertain, so my characters, their scheming and the hectic worlds they live in come first.
I can go for days, weeks, without speaking to anyone except cashiers in my local shops. They’ve gotten to know when I’m in the middle of a tricky scenario, one look at my basket and the game is up.
If I get to a slump and need a sugar hit, I grab my purse, pull on a pair of old trainers and rush out to the village. Where I stock up on all things that are a) easy to eat at a computer, b) give an instant glucose high and c) are bad for me.
My favourite guilty pleasures are soft sweets, biscuits, ice cream, cashew nuts, crisps, chocolate bars and profiteroles. And on some occasions when things are extra tough, easy peel clementine’s and anchovies… go figure! (the local fish monger says fish is brain food).
One very sweet store cashier in particular takes a quick look at my basket, unwashed hair and dishevelled appearance, and knows immediately what’s up.
“Writing again?” she asks with a sympathetic tilt of her head.
“Yep,” I nod through a shrug of shame.
She quickly gathers up my items and throws them into a bag, hiding the evidence from the tut-tutting queue forming behind me. With a head down illicit-drug-deal feel, I hurriedly pay her, sneak out of the shop and scurry back to my computer clutching the guilty stash.I love that woman, she doesn’t judge.
I have tried eating healthy at my desk… honestly. But those pesky carrot sticks are way too noisy, all that crunchy chewy teeth-action disrupts my flow.
The only healthy thing about my writer’s life is having dogs. When the going gets tough, they sense my stress levels are going through the roof and know it’s time to get me away from the computer.
They go in for a two pronged attack. One sits at my feet and gives me the psychological silent glare that forces me to look down at him. The other jumps up and bashes his paw at my mouse-holding arm. My concentration broken, it’s time for walkies.
And they’re right. The enforced exercise twice a day is probably the only thing that keeps me alive.
As much as I moan about it, the minute I’m out the door walking in the fresh air, ideas start to fall into place.
Dogs are wonderful co-writers. They’re another heart beat in the room, so that you never feel alone. They know their job is to keep me sane and I know my job is to give them cuddles and dog biscuits. I love being part of a pack, we make a great team.

So, when we begin the story the deeply disturbed deviant David locked up for murder and kidnapping and holding Tara hostage and murdering a guy from Book One (which I didn’t get a chance to read, but that okay! Because Unfinished Business can be a stand alone anyway! ����). As Tara decides to pay her victimizer a visit all the while trying to 1.) convince herself that he is not her one true love and 2.) not give him the satisfaction of knowing that she still wants him.
