Bible Verse of the Week

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16 KJV

Worship Wednesday – He Wants It All

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matthew 22:37 I know it’s been a while since we’ve had Worship Wednesday, but I wanted to kick it off with a gentle reminder that God wants all of you not part of you.

Oftentimes, we are only willing to be God’s date on Sunday morning, with possible bible studies and holidays and other events added in. But God wants us to be in a committed relationship with Him, not just there for the “escort service”. Loving and serving God is not difficult nor is there anything wrong with doing so.

I know some will have you believe you are strange if you choose to uphold the standards of the bible. But have you ever stopped to think that maybe they are strange to want to live in such a negative and spiteful way? Everything we do in life is a choice. Whether good or bad. Wrong or right.

Maybe you have made mistakes in your past, and you may have made some 5 minutes ago. God will forgive you, the bible tells us in Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” This just means to keep trying to do what is right time and time again and never give up. You may not see results yet, but you will!

Don’t give up on God, and remember, He wants it all!

Stay Motivated, Stay Encouraged, But most of all Stay Blessed!

We’re Social!

Social MediaKM Johnson International has gone social! In this high tech world it is hard not to connect with people on all levels.  Some people believe that social media is not a good thing, while others see the advantage. We at KMJI feel that too much of anything can be bad, so we try to maintain the thought of everything in moderation!

The bible tells us to “Be not conformed of this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We are a part of this world and not of this world, so it is important to use “business sense” and WISDOM when making decisions as it pertains to operating accordingly.

With that said, for your convenience: We are on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Youtube! ‘Like’ our Facebook Page and join in the conversation with other BLESSED people just like you! Though we are still ironing the details, KNOW that we are there to connect with you, and answer any questions you may have. Follow us on twitter for daily inspiration, and check us out on Youtube for book trailers, coaching sessions, and inspirational words!

I will personally be there as often as possible to reach out and chat with you, as well as answer any questions that may come along. Remember no matter what is going on in your life, Stay Encouraged, Stay Focused, but always…..

Stay Blessed!

How can you believe in God and not believe in the bible?

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.’ John 1:1-5 (NKJV)

That scripture is very loaded. But let’s just talk about the beginning part, John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” I believe that answers the question of this particular blog. I also know I can’t just end with that. I have recently encountered persons who claim to believe in God, but do not believe in the bible. Do not believe in heaven or hell. Do not believe in Adam and Eve. And make reference to the disbelief of a man living some 800 years, after being birthed from immaculate conception…. I was shocked when I heard this! Honestly, I didn’t think that there were people in this world who were claiming Christianity, but held these beliefs! So where have I been? You can’t say I was locked up, because I have been right there with the rest of the world….keeping to myself, my thoughts, and my life, and minding my own business. But maybe that’s the problem? I was having a conversation with another person, and they said there are three things you just don’t talk about, cause it only causes problems, starts fights, and even starts wars! You guessed it!

Sexuality
Politics, and
Religion

So why are these topics sooo taboo? Why are people so afraid to talk openly about these subjects? The bible talks about all of them! But let’s not digress. I am really concerned about the perception of Christianity. I again openly admit, I guess I’ve sheltered myself. I also admit I too fell into the “we don’t talk about that,” routine.

Now about that bible. The bible was written by man, and inspired by God. We must remember that having faith in God and the miracles he has performed is the same as having faith that your direct deposited paycheck will reach your account when it is supposed to. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen……if you can have enough faith to put in your paycheck, why can’t you have the same if not more in the Bible and it’s writings?

I guess what I should have been saying from the very beginning is, if you don’t believe in the bible, then you can’t believe in God. At least not my God! See my God goes by several names, Jehovah Jireh - My provider, Jehovah Nissi - My banner, Jehovah Shalom - Lord of Peace, and -The Lord my healer, just to name a few. He also is a God of His word.

Unlike man, you can be certain that anything the Lord God promises you, he will come through. Some may have a hard time understanding for fear of TRUE knowledge, and many already know the TRUTH but chose to continue to run from what God has spoken into their lives…

It’s OK, I did it too. The main point is to trust and believe and to put no man before God. If you are trying to gather an understanding it’s OK. It is also human nature to fear the unknown and what we don’t understand. People tend to cover their fear by saying that they have only found a better, alternate solution. Maybe if you just tried to truly understand the Word of God for what it is, you wouldn’t need to come up with “alternate endings”?

Gotta run, but I will definitely have more on this later. Stay Blessed!

Praying with the Grain – Review

I was very interested in this book because I consider myself to be a prayer warrior and this was an opportunity to see another perspective on prayer. Generally I view prayer from a spiritual perspective however, Dr. Martinez asks us to consider our personality types when it comes to our relationship with God and therefore our prayer life. Praying with the Grain highlights three factors that directly affect our praying: our temperament, our personality, and our circumstances.

Praying with the Grain is divided into two parts:  The Psychology of Prayer and The Apologetics of Prayer. It was also broken down into the following five chapters with the first three under ‘The Psychology of Prayer.’

1. Different Prayers for Different People

2. Overcoming Difficulties

3. The Therapeutic Value of Prayer

4. Prayer: Psychological Illusion?

5. Are All Prayers Alike?

Praying with the Grain definitely opened my eyes to the idea that the way a person prays is quite similar to the way that we operate in other areas of our lives. Using Carl Jung’s classifications along with the four personality types, Dr. Martinez delves deep into the temperament of an individual. I would recommend anyone looking for solutions to improve their prayer life consider reading Praying with the Grain. Understanding that although our personalities may affect the way we approach prayer, we should ultimately seek to evolve to the place where logic is no longer a part of our prayer life.

I want to thank Kregel Publications for providing me with this free review copy and making it possible for me to review this book.

“Excuse me? I don’t think I heard you..”

I have been praying and meditating more frequently lately. Trying to “hear” from GOD. It’s amazing how it seems as time goes by, you might want to turn the TV off first! Listening and hearing God’s voice are definitely two different things:

You have to actually hear that something is being said
Have the ability to distinguish between his voice and the TV you left on upstairs
Block out the “other” voices in your head…..just joking…

But you get the picture, right? So once you have successfully heard his voice, you must listen.

Ah, yes, listen. I think that is one of the hardest things for us to do. Especially as young adults. We believe we already know everything, and then we won’t listen when the new information is being given to us! Now I won’t put this all on just young adults, I do know a few older adults who act the same!

The point is that we have to place ourselves in a position to hear from GOD, and then we have to actually listen to whatever it is he is trying to tell us.

With all of that being said, I am going to have to cut this short. Now I will turn off the TV, and phone, and ready myself while pray and meditating on the word of GOD. I know I may or may not hear him, but the point is that I will ready myself for what he has to say. Maybe this time, after he has spoken, I won’t be saying, “Excuse me? I don’t think I heard you..”

Stay Blessed!
