M.B. Chandejoined the Police Service in the erstwhile State of Madhya Pradesh, immediately after graduation. He was inducted to the Maharashtra Police Service during the reorganization of states. Through 39 years of distinctive police service, he served in all branches of the Police Department, both at the State and Central levels, including as the security detail of VVIPs. He was also on the editorial staff of the Indian Police Journal. Since his retirement in 1976, as the Assistant Commissioner of Police, he has emerged as a prolific writer. His in-depth research and versatile practical experiences have enriched his books with a forthright and incisive quality.
