WIP Wednesday

Titos stared out the window of the shop at the heavy raindrops falling from the sky. A summer shower in Dallas was a rare but welcome occurrence, which normally lifted his spirits. Not now. Not today. Not after Derek’s sudden exit.
“Are you nuts?” Kyros asked. “You let him go.”
“He’s not a Promethean.”
His cousin glared at him. “I see. You know that because why exactly?”
“The detective isn’t our enemy,” he replied. “Prometheans have great faith. He has none.” Derek’s aura had lightened during their lovemaking, but just before leaving, the mortal’s darkness returned a deepened to the blackest black. Hopelessness.
“Did you fuck him?” Kyros asked.

The lieutenant looked past him. “There’s the other half of this debacle now. Let’s get him in here and see what we can do about this mess you’ve created. Officer Vende, get in here.”His partner entered and took the seat next to his. “Yes, Sir.”“I was just telling Stone that Dr. Littlefield won’t be turning in her report until tomorrow. You know about that?”“Damn it.” Vende turned and faced him. “Derek, what did you do at the morgue?”“My job,” he stated flatly.“More than that I would bet,” their commander said. “Barnes had lots of friends at City Hall and they want this put to bed. So do I. Where are we on the case?”Vende didn’t look away from Derek but answered Gray, “Suicide. Open and shut.”“Stone?” the commander asked. He met Gray’s harsh stare directly. “I’d like to speak to his assistant.”“I’m not asking you what you’d like to do, officer. I only want to know what evidence you’ve found to keep this case open. Am I making myself clear?”“Crystal.” Normally he appreciated Gray’s directness. Not now. He needed more time.

“This isn’t a joke. A man is dead. My job is to get to the bottom of things.”Titos didn’t blink or move for a very long, dark pause. Afterward, the silence was broken by his deep, quiet tone. “Ask your questions, Detective.”Arguably, Love might’ve killed Barnes. Motive, means, and opportunity had to be determined. “Can you tell me your whereabouts over the past few days?” Normally, solving cases was all that mattered to Derek. Once on a scent to truth he would never give up until found. Sleep became less and less. The tick of the clock taunted him until justice was served. He loved his job. Always had. But now something new pierced his mental armor.“I was here or at home, Detective.”“Was anyone with you?”“Kyros was with me at work.”“And at home?”“I live alone,” Titos answered. His mind became the punching bag of this new prayer. Please let him be innocent.

ManCandy Monday

Another ManCandy Monday. Its one of my favorite things to do. Especially since I'm still on my tattoo kick. Don't you just love a man with tattoos?

“You’re a god of love?” His mind was spinning like a tornado trying to make sense of what Titos had just confessed to him.
“Actually, I’m a demigod of love.”
“God. Demigod. Same difference from my perspective. You’re not human?”
“Correct.”
He looked at the man—correction demigod—whose bed he’d shared for the past few nights. From the top of Titos’s head to the bottom of his feet was the image of male perfection. He should’ve known things were too good to be true.
“How old are you?” he asked, fearing the answer.
“Two hundred twenty-nine.”

Time for some ManCandy Monday. Today its all about tattoos. I've been fascinated with them while writing my new book Cupid's Arrow. If you want to learn more about the series head over to my website and the Love Ink section.

Enjoy!

"Are you ready, Derek?”
The detective nodded.
The mortal’s mouthwatering naked muscles were impacting his balls, making them unbearably heavy. “Climb up, baby. Face away from me.”
Derek’s left eyebrow shot up, but he didn’t say a word as he took a seat backwards in the chair.
Things had heated up between them so many times, but after sex, this sexy man often cooled to an iceberg.
Titos clicked on his tat machine and the familiar hum calmed him only a little for what he was about to do. “This is going to look great on your back.”
Would the divine ink impact Derek, freeing him of his terrible past? If it did work, would Derek see him as his one true love or would the magic tat lead the mortal who had captured all Titos’s heart to another? Eternity without this man would be hell, but ultimately Derek’s happiness meant more to him than anything.
"Let's get started."

Derek pushed him against the wall in his living room, fixing him with an I-dare-you-to-fight-me stare. Of course he didn’t. Using his power would’ve given him an unfair advantage over the detective. He wasn’t sure if he could best this sexy dark-eyed mortal. They seemed evenly matched physically.
No, he wouldn’t fight Derek. His passion hung in the air as thick as the heaviest fog in Olympus, but instead of a cold, wet mist, Derek’s desire was hot and steamy.
